It's a question we get all the time from satan's fellow-travellers: "If God is all-powerful and good, and so worthy of being supported, why do bad things happen to innocent little babies?"
God considers that such an important question that he answers it right in the third chapter of His book, the Bible.
Genesis:
3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil
So, are you picturing this scene in your head? What is the snake doing? Is it hovering? Standing on it's tail? Or is it on it's belly?
Surely, you say, it's on it's belly. But wait, then comes this line:
3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
God punishes the snake by putting it on its belly. But wasn't it already on it's belly? Yes, it was. How is that possible? A phenemonom I will call PREMPTIVE-PUNISHMENT.
You see, God already knew the snake was going to do something bad, so, when God created the snake, he made it slither on its belly.
But God doesn't just preemptively punish snakes. He does it with people too: why else would our all-loving God create babies with horrible, painful afflictions? Why else would God kill something like 75% of all babies by causing miscarriage? Those sick, stunted babies may look innocent, but God knows all about the horrible snake-like things they will do when they grow up.
So, next time some liberal whiner trying to guilt you out of our hard-earned money to support some "disadvantaged" person, some African or cripple or retard, tell them that you don't feed snakes.
