Gospel vs. Catechism: Why Catholics Aren't Christian

    Dear Friends,

I'd like to compare of the Holy Scriptures with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Here we will demonstrate, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that what Catholics hold beliefs radically inconsistent with the Bible. We will do so using their own pre-approved words.

    The Bible: http://www.biblegateway.com/

    ***
"This catechism aims at presenting an organic synthesis of the essential and fundamental contents of Catholic doctrine, as regards both faith and morals, in the light of the Second Vatican Council and the whole of the Church's Tradition. Its principal sources are the Sacred Scriptures, the Fathers of the Church, the liturgy, and the Church's Magisterium." Catechism 11

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book." Revelation 22:18.

    ***
"The texts of Sacred Scripture are often not quoted word for word but are merely indicated by a reference." Catechism 19

"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." Mark 31:13
    ***

"God never ceases to draw man to himself." Catechism 27

"And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses." Exodus 9:12
    ***

"Our holy mother, the Church, holds and teaches that God, the first principle and last end of all things, can be known with certainty from the created world by the natural light of human reason." Catechism 36.

"Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?" Job 38:33

I knew they were a bunch of heretics. At least they thinned the joo herd back in the inquisition days.

I (fortunately) cannot comment on the Catholic catechism, as I was raised Lutheran and thus was taught Luther's Small Catechism, in which Luther instructed, "But with the young people...teach them, first of all, these parts, namely, the Ten Commandments, the Creed, the Lord's Prayer, etc., according to the text, word for word, so that they, too, can repeat it in the same manner after you and commit it to memory. But those who are unwilling to learn it should be told that they deny Christ and are no Christians, neither should they be admitted to the Sacrament, accepted as sponsors at baptism, nor exercise any part of Christian liberty, but should simply be turned back to the Pope and his officials, yea, to the devil himself." So Luther had at least that going for him...

We were drilled on that catechism until we could recite all the important parts, none of which I can recall for the life of me...

My favorite uncle was a catholic. I am sure he is now suffering eternally for rejecting The Lord! This thought would make me very sad if I didn't know that I do not need my uncle's company upon reaching paradise, all I need is the company of The One True LORD!
