Apart from being a filthy European and an even filthier Presbyterian, Cornelius Van Til had a few decent ideas in his head, one of them the doctrine of Presuppositionalism.
Presuppositionalism teaches us that the ultimate foundation upon which belief in God can be placed is the mere assumption that the Bible is 100% True(c) and God is 100% Real(tm)! This belief is held to be superior in nature to rational discourse or evidence of any kind. It is completely unfalsifiable, and therefore True(c)!
This is, I think, the correct position to hold. Atheists put their faith in evidence and reason. True Christians(tm) put their faith in God and the Bible. So the ultimate argument, the one that should win the most souls for the Lord, is this: that no argument is necessary; one must merely believe!
Some people will choose sin and abomination over God and decency. For these people, there is no saving them. They have chosen death and damnation over God and Eternal Salvation(tm). As long as we share with them the doctrine of Presuppositionalism, and God's Holy Word(c), then we have done our job.
Mark 16:15
King James Version (KJV)
15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
