  • Defraction of light, pre and post flood.

My son Zebida has had a bit of an issue in his physics class. His teacher was talking about light defraction and how light produces a spectrum of colors as in interacts with a raindrop.

Zebida had no problem with this however he thought it only right to point out that defraction is only a post flood phenomenon.

Genesis 9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Zebida's remark was met with ridicule by the teacher and his fellow pupils. I today have to go and sort this out.

I believe Zebida is correct though. Before the flood of you shone a torch at a raindrop or prism all that you would have got back was a beam of white light because defraction had not been created then. An interesting (if a bit geeky) thought!

I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.

Brother Jack, you certainly are raising your son up right. I like the way he used his God-given intellect to figure out something like this that apparently even physics teachers were unaware of.

I am also glad to see him stand up to the secular closed-mindedness that is so pervasive in academia.

Well, I don't understand that secular science bit. I do, however, understand the the great Bible quotes
A great reminder from God that he exists and that we have to follow His word or go to hell.
II Kings 2:23-24: 23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

I do not like the idea of messing with Gods Creations. I mean, taking His pure Light of Life(tm) and manipulating it. To me, that seems like the work of a false God or Satan. If I were in a position to do something about it, I'd speak to the school administrators about stoning the teacher.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
