It's got nothing to do with the book; you have to read between the lines. What happened was an abomination, a violent attack on the love of our Lord, a capitol crime in the Kingdom of Heaven. It was so bad that God obviously still had a hard time talking about it when He dictated the King James Bible to us in 1611.

Now, let's do the math. It involved fornication, it involved voyeurism, it involved doing something sneaky...and it involved a darkie. Can you imagine the kinds of things they were capable of back then? When approx. 2000 years of Christian teaching down the road the best they can do is play harmonica and dance for tips? Frankly, it's impossible to be 100% sure whether Ham was sodomising his father, his mother, and/or the giraffes. The full sordid truth may never be known, or at least not until we get to Heaven and have the chance to ask God Himself, who was there.
