There's been a lot of hot air blowing lately around about so-called "hyperbolic language" in the Bible. These Bible-Hyperbolists believe that Jesus went around exaggerating and blowing things way out of proportion, and that His Words must be watered down before they can be properly understood.
What a load of Horsefeathers! Satan would love nothing more than for the Word of God to be watered down. The Devil would love nothing more than for folks to believe that there is a huge difference between what God said and what God really meant, and the Devil has an army of liberal "preachers" ever ready to teach folks to lean unto their own understanding.
Bible-Hyperbolism is just the latest incarnation of Liberalism in the Church. Every time one of their diabolical schemes is uncovered, they go back and cook up a new scheme. Here is what these Bible-Hyperbolists would have you believe:

- When God described homosexuality as an abomination, He really meant that, while sodomy is A-OK to Him, He slightly prefers for people to engage in heterosexual relationships.
- When Jesus required people to hate their families, He really meant that they should love their families slightly less than they love Jesus.
- When the Bible said that Joshua went from town to town, killing every man, woman, child, toddler, infant, and farm animal he came across, with the edge of his sword, leaving nothing that breathes, it really meant that he just smacked some folks around a little.
- When the Bible said that God utterly destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with brimstone and fire from the sky, it really meant that He sent an angel down to say, "Hey you guys, straighten up!"
- When Jesus described eternal bliss in Heaven and eternal agonizing torment in Hell, he really meant that Heaven is only a little bit nicer than Hell.
