But Eliot, it doesn't change the argument I made at the beginning of the thread. The angel 'came in unto Mary', and I provided a few examples of just what the bible meant when it said 'came in unto'. Therefore it would seem like the angel in the story, and not 'god', did the begetting.

Which would make John 3:16 untrue.

You are making the entire miracle seem less important than it was by nit-picking at it! Can't you understand that God begat JESUS, that is, Himself, by sending a Holy Spirit to go in unto Mary in order that JESUS could live to be crucified so that by dying He was actually killing Himself to change a law that He had made? My dear Pastor Al, it clearly says in that passage that an ANGEL went in unto Mary, not 'god', so therefore, how could jesus have been god's 'only begotten son' not to mention the fact that genesis mentions other sons!

Therefore John 3:16 cannot be true!

"Go unto" could mean that God had the Angel ring Mary's doorbell and tell the servants that God wanted a word with her.....He uses Angels as His personal emissaries quite often, FYI. to assume that God sent an Angel to fornicate with Mary in order to open the way for Him is revolting and completely unBiblical.
