We here at Landover Baptist Church follow the Holy Bible to the letter. All the parts, not just the feel-good parts. If you can show evidence of a True Christian™ misquoting any portion of the Holy Word of God, please bring this to the attention of a Pastor. This is a very serious charge. If, however, you fail to find such a comment, an apology to Pastor Peters is in order, as it is quite a serious thing to accuse him of doing.

You've made various assertions (unsupported, I might add) about what Christianity isn't. What do you believe it is, and how do you know you're right?

Well, I just told you part of what Christianity means to me as an individual. How do anyone know the path they follow is right? We can all only hope to get to the other side in one piece. For all we know, being Muslim could be the right way...or being and Atheist. We can only try to be the best we can be, and hope it is enough.

Being Christian does not mean I have to be hellfire and brimstone. It does not mean I can't be a self sufficient woman, who still respects her husband. Being Christian does not mean that I have to be a pushover, and believe everything a pastor tells me. Being Christian does not mean I have to take a pastors interpretation of the word as the be all and end all of my salvation. Being Christian does not mean I get to judge people for being gay, black, Muslim or Atheist or any other deviation from what "True Christians" are. It does mean I get to call BS when I see it, since I am Christian, and I HAVE A FUNCTIONING BRAIN.

I don't lightly agree with these people, but he has a point. If your posts are any indication, you are about as Christian as I am. Why not drop the pretense and convert to something in whose teachings you actually believe?

From where I'm sitting, it looks as though they're just doing what their big book of fairy tales tells them to do, while you're using God's name to justify whatever you want to believe.

Then explain your belief system, and justify it through logic.

And that's different from Christianity in general exactly how?

The heartlessness and lack of basic empathy of atheists not only makes me weep, deep in my spirit, but it frightens me to see how quickly this worldview is growing. Religious civil rights will be the fight of this next decade as these atheists want to destroy everything that is sacred and beautiful.
