Yes it is. Unlike "scientists" who change their mind all the time, Christians know the absolute truth that never ever changes. The very definition of truth.

A Christian is always in perfect health, no matter his weight. So if someone is overweight and not healthy, they are not a Christian and deserve whatever punishment God gave them.

I am a Doctor. I see what overweight does to people, and there is no blessing in that.

A Christian is always in perfect health, no matter his weight. So if someone is overweight and not healthy, they are not a Christian and deserve whatever punishment God gave them.

Wrong. If you actually read what I wrote, you'll see that I was making the point that prooftexting leads to absurd results. The Bible never contradicts itself, but if we read it the way you do, we'd have to conclude that it does.

So you say the scripture tell us that god blesses us with fat, which leads to heart disease, diabetes, cancers, etc? Isn't that destroying the temple? I am a firm believer in looking after the body God entrusted us with.

That's just silly! What this child needs is not food and access to clean water and medical attention, it is the Word of God! God is trying to teach the child a lesson - that child needs humility, he needs to know his LORD is worthy and deserving of his allegiance. Until the child learns this very valuable Truth, no food can help him.

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Psalm 92:12-15: The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD [is] upright: [he is] my rock, and [there is] no unrighteousness in him.

Proverbs 28:25: He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Since we all know that God's Word gives us a perfectly internally consistent message, we must reject the practice of prooftexting in favor of letting Scripture interpret Scripture.
