People can persecute True Christians™ through mockery and laughter all they want. It only blesses with the kingdom of heaven!

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
    Matthew 5:10

Your utter lack of compassion for the child, on the other hand, is heartless. Truly heartless.

Naw, not going to waste my time with an idiotic argument for some unschooled Bible thumper. Do you all play with snakes in your church as well? You let me know when you get cancer if the Bible saved your life though, OK? And no visiting one of us evil oncologists and dosing on morphine, you hear? Cause you will go to hell then.

That's silly! The LORD would no sooner give Cranky Old Man cancer than He would give Jesus cancer.

I am a Doctor. I see what overweight does to people, and there is no blessing in that.

Wrong. If you actually read what I wrote, you'll see that I was making the point that prooftexting leads to absurd results. The Bible never contradicts itself, but if we read it the way you do, we'd have to conclude that it does.

And you were also prooftexting, so I think we are quite even on that front.

Since we all know that God's Word gives us a perfectly internally consistent message, we must reject the practice of prooftexting in favor of letting Scripture interpret Scripture.

Hell no, because I have no reason to do so. I'm atheist.

Wouldn't be great if Mrs. "We shouldn't judge others" would post her proof that the large gentleman pictured above does not suffer from any sort of glandular or hormonal imbalance, and that his size is due solely to overeating?
