Now this is where I could look to history. Wasn't there a dire financial burden thrust upon European nations after defeating the Ottomans? Or some European nations. How did they solve the problem?

Should we look to similar solutions? The Bible teaches us:

In looking to history for answers it is always a mistake to look not far enough. God is able to shake more than just a local region. Is it right to divert the wherewithal He requires elsewhere?

When did Fascism was so terrible? To me it seems it was good enough, just look at Franco Spain who was submitted to Christianity.

Also, it doesn't matter anymore if Mr. Barry Soetoro is a fascist, since he is headed back to Indonesia.

Do you believe the earnings received when God shakes His Purse are taxable? Shouldn't we direct a huge portion of these shakings to our Pastor?
It may seem a strange question, but it is not one I have considered before.

As always I look to Scripture first.

MARK 12 . KJV . look up

17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

I am not equally familiar with all currencies and in America have rarely used cash but I am sure God's intentions will be clear. The scribes come in for strong criticism. Their practice had been to trample over widows and orphans, demanding the full entitlement of whatever perverse law they'd manipulated to not only take all her living but even her deceased husband's house and furniture! She would be destitute. God's standard is not like that. Jesus explained it this way:

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

I hope you will be able to work out the appropriate percentage envisaged by Jesus for the furtherance of His kingdom. Praise God!

You know, I notice how few animist missionaries there are. Never has a Namibian knocked on my door with a little tract. No glossy brochures from Masai Witchdoctors seeking to convert me to the worship of a myriad goblins. These are very poorly funded belief systems. Christian pastors on the other hand have embraced poverty and spare no expense to ensure that the Good News of Salvation reaches all nations, even unto the end of the world. And in response to their sacrificial giving The LORD so richly blesses each word of testimony guaranteeing that adequate funding is available for every missionary endeavour. Japan? Yes, a frightful pagan land but Christians will witness in Tokyo day and night even though it's not what you'd call a bargain basement city! Evangelism in Monte Carlo, bastion of Romish idolatry, Copenhagen, Zürich, Lhasa just crying out for it, our Pastors heed the call at once no matter how arduous the travel or confronting the accommodation arrangements. You can be assured that all funds will be spent and no matter how great the seed you sow the harvest will be so much greater. What animist can say that?

Even the widow's mite all that she has to offer is accepted, in humility, and God's word is spread abroad. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Lord.
