Quite simple. Drop a ball straight to the ground. It bounces straight up. If the Earth was a curved surface the ball would bounce at an angle.

I like to use the Science of Observation at every opportunity.

When I am standing and drop a golf ball I observe it falls. There is not other explanation except that God is pushing it down. That's science.

When I look out the window, I can see the earth is flat. That it the Science of Observation. I realize other stuff appears in science textbooks, but it is not based on Observation.

How could a "spacecraft" (clearly an invention of science fiction writers) crash into a light on the firmament without damaging that light? That just doesn't make any sense whatsoever!

When I take my telescope out and look though it at, say, Jupiter, I see a small disc. Not a ball, a disc.
