Re: Why did God create other planets?

Because the moon is described in genesis as a light, not a reflective surface for the sun. For some folks, where reality contradicts the bible, reality must be wrong.

I once pondered this very same question, and figured that God created other planets to keep the scientists and astrologers busy before He dispatches them to Hell. But then I realized that I shouldn't be questioning God's motives, and stopped asking questions.

    VERY TRUE!

Besides, the bible is talking about 'lights'. It was never talking about planets, because people didn't know that there were any other planets...

Also; Why are (some) christians getting mad when a scientist says that the moon is reflecting the sun's rays?

Realistically speaking (and with a little scientific background), the universe is constantly expanding as well as the solar system. Going with that, Earth is currently in an idea position in relation to the sun to support life. I don't personally believe this, but if I was supporting your ideas here, I'd say that God made the other planets for humans to inhabit after Earth becomes unsuitable to sustain life (as it will be within 5 billion years).

The following was taught to me July 4, 1975 by means of exploding fireworks spelling out secret messages to me and hearing subliminal backwards voices while watching the movie "Jaws"...

Alien entities can have souls as evidence in the manifestation of GHOST SHARK. Once a race of living, breathing sharks inhabiting the 666th planet orbiting a star in the Pisces Constellation in Galaxy M74, they were destroyed because of wickedness in sin....an extraterrestial version of Sodom and Gomorrah....these sharks engaged in thousands-year long hermaphroditic bisexual orgies in undersea motels. The amount of moteljuices generated on this planet alone accounted for 90% in the known universe, even including dark matter, so it was destroyed by Spaceship Jesus 666 million years ago.

The King/Queen of these sharks escaped the planet in spirit form and swam across outer space for millions and millions of years looking for an adequate aquatic environment to call home. It discovered Earth, and made its home in the deepest part of the sea -- Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean.

Indeed what was once a living alien shark has become a spirit.

This whole thread is a mockery. Who are you to barge into God's favorite forum, demanding "why" of God? We could fill a baseball stadium with those "why" questions! You God-mockers sit around all the livelong day dreaming up these idiotic questions to try and make fools out of Christians. Do you think you're the first God-mocker to stumble in here?

You need to worry about your personal relationship with Jesus, not spacemen, pal. You need to get right with God before you start throwing a hissyfit over irrelevant trivia that you've dreamed up.

For starters, why don't you make a thread of your own in the "introductions" section and tell us about yourself, your church, and so on.

I have a concern about 'aliens'.

They will not, by definition, have living human souls, and will not be sons of Adam. How are we to consider them ?? Food or fiends ?? Apostates or abominations ?? Slaves or servants ??

Regarding missionary work on their behalf, since they would lack souls, would it not be blasphemous to share the Word with them ?? One would not preach to the elk, or labor to convert the centipedes, and to even try on the 'aliens' would seem to insult or mock God and His Holy Way. And to what end ?? What happens to a 'saved' (hypothetically speaking !!) 'alien' when it dies?? It will not partake of the Resurrection, it will just be dead.

So what of the 'aliens' ??

I think the non-existance of alien life forms can be deduced logically. At the end, ALL of creation, not just Earth, will be burned and remade by the fire of God (2 peter 3:10). Scripture is a special revelation from God, there is no other like it, and it only speaks of events on Earth. God would not make another thinking race without informing them of His will, way, and the fate of all creation. But this would require another Scripture to be given to them. This cannot be, there can be no other Gospel. Therefore, there cannot be any extraterrestrial intelligence.
