    Hi Roberta,

I'm not exactly sure what you're speaking of... but if you are speaking of the first revelation given to Joseph Smith, I'll be happy to share the experience.

As Joseph sought truth among the different faiths, he turned to the Bible for guidance. He read, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). Because of this passage, Joseph decided to ask God what he should do. In the spring of 1820 he went to a nearby grove of trees and knelt in prayer. He described his experience:

“I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. . . . When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Joseph Smith—History 1:16–17).

    Hi Noah,

Thank you so much for your kind demeanor. I truly appreciate it.

That is a great question! The first one that come to mind is:

    John 3:16
16 ¶For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    Thanks!

Fair enough. Why do you believe the insane scribbles of a convicted con man can have any validity alongside the simple truth in God's Holy Word? Did God ever mention Joe Smith or magical underwear?

You are dealing with the devil, my friend, and facing certain eternal damnation in the sulfurous likes of fire in Hell as long as you entertain foolishness as truth.

    Hello A Kind Correction

    Welcome to God's favourite forum

    OK a specific question

What is your favourite Bible verse? What inspires you?

The one inspiring me today is:

    Numbers 35:16
And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

    Yours in Christ

Are you retarded? I pointed out HOLY SCRIPTURE FROM THE HOLY BIBLE that proves my point. There can be 0% doubt that all Mormons will burn in Hell for all eternity. Have you ever even opened a Bible!?

Allow me to PROVE to you that you will burn in Hell.

#1 You break God's law by adding things to the Holy Bible: Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

#2 The Bible tells us that breaking a law is the same as breaking all of them: James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. You could just as well go on a killing spree, all sins are equally bad to God!

#3 Those who sin will burn in Hell: Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Case closed. You lose and God wins. Always!

    Hello Roberta and Crankyoldman -

I'm sorry that you feel such hostility towards myself and my beliefs. I can assure you that I feel no such hostility towards you.

Our Heavenly Father loves each of us so much as His children. Just as I do not want to see my sons and daughters fight amongst each other, I'm sure our Father in Heaven does not want us to fight.

Again, I am happy to share my beliefs with you if you are interested. I also invite you to share your own personal beliefs with me. But I kindly ask you not to castigate my beliefs or me personally because I believe differently than you. We are all Gods children.

We already know that. Mormons believe that they can insult Jesus over and over again by making up stuff that is not in His Holy Bible.

God explicitly forbids that: Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

And He also tells us how He will punish those that add to the word anyway: Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

So if you wonder why Mormons are usually sick and why they all die young. Just read the Bible, the real one!

Oh yes, real quick, in case you want to know what we believe in a nutshell - here is what Joseph Smith wrote to a newspaper that wanted to publish the basics of our beliefs - they are called the Articles of Faith:

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, ilovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my humble words.

Re: Why Mormons are NOT Christians

I should first say that I have many cherished friends who are Baptists. They are great people and I respect them very much. I should probably say next, that I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I just want to let you all know that I love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the only way to salvation and gave his life to save us. I am eternally grateful for his sacrifice for me and all of you - my brothers and sisters. I love our Lord, Jesus Christ with all of my heart and strive to be like him daily.

I must say that the original post by the good Pastor seems to have good intent, but unfortunately does not portray our true beliefs with complete accuracy. I'm not here to "bible bash" or try to prove anyone right or wrong. I'm only here to let you all know that I, as a "Mormon" love each of you as my brothers and sisters and hope that we can all combine our similar VALUES to help make our communities a better place for us and our children. We absolutely have several differences in doctrine, however, I believe that we all have similar values.

I declare today, that I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon are both sacred collections of God's words to us. I know that they are both testaments of Jesus Christ and will bring us closer to him as we follow the counsel contained therein. I know that God is our Father in Heaven and that Jesus Christ is his only begotten Son. I know that the Holy Ghost will testify truth to our souls. I have read the Book of Mormon, listened to our living Prophet, and then prayed to know the truth. I promise you that the Holy Ghost touched my soul and let me know that what I read and heard was true. You too can know the truth through prayer - if you have a sincere heart.

I simply suggest that if you want to know what we believe, then ask us. We'll be happy to share our beliefs with you. If you don't know a member of my faith, simply go to mormon.org.

God be with you till we meet again.

No even the Magic Underwear Bible doesn't say to accept everyone. It even goes as far as to say that negro's are the spawn of Satan. They also claim that if you baptize a brown person that they will turn white. Of course they have now changed the wording (1988 I believe) to read "pure" instead of "white" and when the NAACP or whatever that negro group calls themselves threatened to sue them for not allowing negros to have the priesthood, their prophet had a "revalation" and all of a sudden negros were allowed to be priests. Well them and every 12-year-old boy.

You deserve contempt. You spit in the face of Jesus, you worship a man who thought he could tell the future by looking at a rock, and you think you get your own planet when you die.

Now be honest: do you deserve respect for coming to a peaceful Christian site and trying to defend such foolishness? Of course not. Now stop feeling sorry for yourself and get right with God before he throws you in a volcano.
