Secular scientists also claim that light and dark were created before the Sun and the Moon. Are you saying that the Sun was created before light was created? Because that would make no freaking sense whatsoever.

GE 1:11-12, 26-27 Trees were created before man was created.
GE 2:4-9 Man was created before trees were created.
Genesis 2 doesn't say that Man was created before trees. It says that Man was created before God planted the Garden of Eden.

GE 1:20-21, 26-27 Birds were created before man was created.
GE 2:7, 19 Man was created before birds were created.
Genesis 2:7 and 19 don't say before, they say and. Do you know the difference between before and and?

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Genesis 2:19

GE 1:24-27 Animals were created before man was created.
GE 2:7, 19 Man was created before animals were created.
    Same comment as above.

GE 1:26-27 Man and woman were created at the same time.
GE 2:7, 21-22 Man was created first, woman sometime later.
Funny, I don't see anything in Genesis 1:26-27 that says they were made at the same time. Agan, why don't you understand the difference between and and before?

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

GE 1:31 God was pleased with his creation.
GE 6:5-6 God was not pleased with his creation when He created it.
God was pleased with his creation, and not so pleased when our ancestors started going a-whoring with angels and committing various wickednesses. There's no inconsistency there. Remember, God created us in His own image. We humans have good days and bad days; so does the Lord.

(Note: That God should be displeased is inconsistent with the concept of omniscience.)
God was royally pissed off about the whoring and wickedness. Nevertheless, He was pleased with one human being, Noah, which was enough. And He's pleased as punch with us True Christians™. Since he was omniscient, he knew we were going to be here, too, albeit several thousand years later, which is probably why He saved Noah and his family. So, you see, God's creation didn't turn out so bad after all. Except for the athiests and Catholics and other non-Christians and the sodomites. They are still a real disappointment.

    etc. etc. etc.
etc. etc. etc. is not an argument. It is an admission that you don't have an argument. Please leave filler like this out of our forums, it wastes bandwidth needlessly.

The title of this post is “why atheists are not open minded”. When I responded to this in what I hope was a reasoned a polite fashion, you censor my views by banning me. Can you see the irony?

You say these seeming contradictions (and the Bible is littered with them) aren't contradictory at all. Ok, explain that to me. Really, please do.
You also say that these are heretic traps placed in the Bible to deliberately obfuscate its meaning. On what basis do you make this extraordinary assertion; is this your own personal opinion, or have you proof that these "traps" are deliberate?

Am I smarter than George Bush? About half his class at Yale were smarter than him if his college grades and entry SATs were an indication.
My intelligence is irrelevant - a statement should be weighed on it's own merit regardless of whether espoused by me or you. This isn't about me - the topic is "why atheists are not open minded". Stop trying to muddy the matters by making it personal.

To state that Christians represent 78% of the U.S.population indicates that you view Catholics as Christians. The implication that this somehow lends weight to your ethos is often referred to as the "fallacy of mass appeal". Google it.
Albert Einstein was generally considered to be atheist, he certainly wasn't Christian, neither is Garry Kasparov, they are both pretty smart - but that completely irrelevant - why mention it unless you lend it weight?
And if you do (erroneously) lend it weight, you may like to know that at 17% of the world's population there are MANY more Catholics than Baptists. More than 99% of the world's population are NOT Baptist; to paraphrase you, are you smarter than 99% of the rest of the world?

I joined this forum not hoping to be converted, but to learn from you by debate. Instead I come across vitriol and diatribe.
There is no irony. We care less for your views because the Bible is our light and truth. We can't consider Catholics as Christians, but we are able to lead the occasional one away from their cannibalistic rituals and toward the True Church. The answer is a resounding YES! We ARE smarter than 99% of the world, all of whom shall perish when JESUS returns to start Armageddon.

The heretic traps ARE deliberate. First because GOD wrote them and the proof, of course, is that they catch heretics. We are not answerable to the freedom of speech our Country guarantees, just as it is not murder if GOD tells you to do it. NOTHING in the Bible encourages any independent thought and neither do we.

It seems you forgot to read the beginning. Genesis 1.

God made lots of people. Adam and Eve were special; he gave them souls. They're in Genesis 2.

of course atheits are closed minded.
isnt the whole point of being an atheist the fact that they require proof of an other worldly being to believe in it?

The ones who claim to be open minded are agnostics,

We aren't papists Stevie. There is no mention of "Holy water" in the Holy Bible.

If you're looking for an aquatic experience that brings you closer to Jesus, why not tie some lead weights around your ankles and jump in the nearest deep lake or river.
