How exactly would accepting Jesus make him happier when in your own words "nowhere does it say He is only merciful. He is also vengeful and terrorizing," I'm not seeing the connection. Also I have a question about morality coming from the Bible. It is obvious that taking every part of the Bible literally goes completely against the morals of modern society (slaughter thousands for different beliefs is generally considered a bad thing, unless of course Hitler is you idol in which case you have bigger problems) and if we pick and choose which parts of the Bible to use as "moral" and which to use as "immoral" doesn't that show that humans have a moral compass built in to them whether they follow the bible or not?

Brother Jim, your words are ever inspiring and always true. We can only pray that this lost gypsy can find it in his heart to accept the Truth. it's going to be an uphill road since this is a person whose people defecate in the streets, pull plows like oxen and sell their babies for gold fillings. I will address your main complaint which is this: If there's a God, why is there so much suffering in the world? This is actually a weak argument and further bolsters the evidence that our God is real. Imagine that! Using evidence of God against Him! Let me explain...

While the Bible does say God is merciful, nowhere does it say He is only merciful. He is also vengeful and terrorizing. He metes out punishment to those who do not follow His ways. A cursory look at several stories in the Old Testament will attest to this. The plagues of ancient Egypt, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, etc. God has no problem wreaking havoc upon the Earth's populace.

So when you see pain and suffering on Earth today, doesn't that prove that our God is real? Why must you continue to frame God in your own terms? Why do you expect Him to behave how you want Him to behave? Let's look at some quotes from Isaiah and Amos...

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

God clearly says right here that He causes evil. So the argument of "Why is there suffering?" is really pointless and baseless.

You are also ignoring the fact that God, who is also merciful, has given us His son Jesus Christ so that we may have eternal life. Are you dissasatisfied with this world? Through accepting Christ as your lord and savior, you will be granted access to the Kingdom of Heaven! While this world may be impure and foul, Heaven is absolutely perfect. What a loving God to have given us this gift!

Why don't you accept Jesus Christ right now if you are so unhappy with the world you live in?

Who am i doesn't matter . This thread isn't sarcastic , i'm not trying to flame anyone or for insults , i'm just curious .
Does God exists? I myself was raised in an orthodox family to be honest , with all the sunday's curch , prayers , pilgrimage and other stuff but i was never sure of one thing .
Is there an almighty God out there? I'm quite open minded and if you bring me enought solid arguments i can accept to be converted to christianity , althou it's not baptism cause i'm not quite from USA.
