I've read in some of their manifesto materials that faux fur follows and/or fosters the fashion for the real thing and must be treated in the same manner.

Again, flinging paint on women outside a store is a wussy attempt to defend their childish beliefs. (And probably act out their mommy issues.)

Bikers NEVER wear imitation materials. They are dressed head to toe is poor Bessie's skin and not even the staunchest animal rights activist would even walk up to them and hand them a pamphlet.

Synthetic fibers are often made of petroleum-- non-renewable--polluting -- and drilled from the earth in places lots of furry creatures call home.

The paint throwing protesters don't throw their fury on teenage girls because they ARE teenage girls more often or not.

    They certainly are Drama Queens.

The argument has also been made that genuine fur sets, follows or fosters the fashion for the real thing. Paint has been thrown upon the wearers of polyester furs -- (polyester being made from petroleum which is so much more respectful of the earth ) by those determined to make their noble point who are still such wussies that they will attack women wearing the genuine article-- just in case-- rather go for the gold and stand up to those who knowingly flaunt genuine leather from head to toe.

No biker worth his motor oil would wear pleather. If the defenders of innocent animals really, really, absolutely wanted to defend their four legged friends they would take on the Hell's Angels and be certain that they weren't soaking anything genuine.

They could also be fairly certain of receiving a concussion.

This "truth" that you're inclined is bull ---. Of course, flinging or otherwise using the droppings of animals without their express written consent might be a violation of their rights.

    Derisively Yours,

    Handmaiden

PETA are nothing more than a pack of vandals and hate the Lord.

The Lord gave us the animals to be killed so we can eat them and make clothes out of them. I once had a fur coat that these vandals destroyed. I was so upset because my Father had given it to me as a present not long before he died. These people are so cruel and only think of themselves.

There was some guy once who made an excellent observation about those animal rights types-- They will throw red paint on a fur coat but you never see them throwing paint onto leather jackets--That's because its easier to hassle old rich ladies than motorcycle gangs.

    _ ------------------------------------------------------------------------_

I need to point out that I didn't originate that observation, but I support it.

PETAists, for all their compassion for our "lesser brothers" are bullies. And like all bullies, they are also cowards. It sure would be fun to see them declare "Leather is Murder" and then throw red paint on a biker's gear. The red stains on their own clothes wouldn't be paint, I bet.

Animal Rights types like to insist that the source of all the world's problems and unrest lies in our inhumane treatment of animals (some feminists claim the same regarding the treatment of women) and the way that it isolates us from nature.

Because nature is so warm and cuddly.

If we stop mentally distinguishing ourselves as better than animals, embrace them as our "brothers of the earth" and stop using them as commodities, everyone will then live in peace and harmony.

. . . . . Excuse me, I had to stop and clean the vomit from my keyboard.

One historical fact of note is that the Nazis outlawed animal experimentation because they regarded it as barbaric. And we all know what a dog lover Hitler was. (sorry, Sister BIG, no comparison intended)

Biographers who wrote about Hitler (and who knew him quite well on a personal basis) openly describe his love for Bavarian sausages and game pie ("game" meaning wild meat from birds and other creatures).

Hitler's own chef openly talked about Hitler's love for stuffed pigeon.

In none of Hitler's speeches or writing did Hitler state he was a vegetarian or speak in favor of vegetarianism.

Hitler was regularly given injections of a protein serum made from the testicles of a bull -- not exactly a treatment that would be tolerated by vegetarians.

In fact, Hitler suffered from severe flatulence (where do you think the idea for the gas chambers came from?) and was advised by doctors to follow a vegetarian diet from time to time in order to calm the gas attacks. This is probably where the myth about Hitler being a vegetarian first originated. No doubt his lieutenants wanted Hitler to be a vegetarian; especially the ones seated closest to him at the dinner table.

You take the chicken and hang it by it's feet (this causes the blood to run to the head and then you chop their head off with an axe. You then hang the animal until the blood runs out. Once that is done, you cut a circle around the anus, this needs to be done very carefully or else you end up with a real mess on your hands You use that hole to gut the bird. Once that is done, you dip the carcass into boiling water to scald it and then pluck it. We spent the extra money and rented an automatic plucker. With the automatic plucker you have to be careful or else you will rip the skin, wings, etc off. Once that is done, you put the bird into cold water for a while, then package and freeze. The nice thing about killing chickens, the rest start to hang around because they want to peck the eyes out of the heads on the ground. This is one of the reasons that commercial chicken farms keep their chickens in cages. It's actually to protect the chickens from each other.

Found out the hard way that you should probably shoot a turkey. My cousin tried to do a chicken the same way and it flew up in his face and broke his nose. We also shot the geese.

Oh, and you can put away the halo supposedly associated with vegetarianism, thank you.

In many ancient, primarily agricultural societies, the people acknowledged the "death" of the vegetable crop they ate and offered prayers of propitiation. (Not unlike traditional hunters saying a prayer for their slaughtered prey).

SOME agricultural societies even sacrificed people to ensure a good harvest, feeling that the death of the plants needed to keep their tribe alive required a death of one of their own to even things out.

Oh, and many vegetarians eat cheese without realizing that special enzymes from animal stomachs are needed to cure the milk into the final product. Also, beef fats, not butter, are often an ingredient in pre-made cookie dough. And everyone knows about hooves and jelly.

This doesn't mean that humans should stoop to the level of animals. We have a few capabilities that they don't. Conscience, the ability to reason, the foresight to work towards greater good rather than immediate pleasure to name some of them.

You do know that behaving as wild predators do causes the animal much pain for no reason, and you have the discrimination power to know that this is wrong.

Thank you for the links. I was never a big fan of PETA or anything, because although their ultimate motive is good,
Why shouldn't humans stoop to the level of other animals? According to PETA and others who preach against "speciesism" we're all one and equal in the web of life or whatever. " A pig is a dog is a boy." is some quote I remember from one of their pontificating leaders.

And the point that I was making was to agree with Sister BIG, we humans usually handle the slaughter of our food "prey" with more sensibility than most carnivores.
Oh, and PETA's ultimate motives are not good, they are insane, unrealistic and hypocritical.

But hey, that's just me, pontificating.

    Pedantically Yours,

Of course PeTA exadurates the torture, the videos probably come from some third-world hell hole where the people aren't much better off than the animals they're filming.

Oh and before you go on about how saintly PeTA is, you may want to look at the information on their killing record

Thank you for the links. I was never a big fan of PETA or anything, because although their ultimate motive is good, their method is shoving morality down people's throats, which is not my cup of cake. About the links, I read just a little bit and I am not going to comment (although I am taken aback).

May I ask you, if you don't mind, how do you exactly "slaughter" the chicken?

Now, PETA is probably exaggerating the torture, or all that happens in only some places, but it does happen and it has to be brought under control.
