Ok while yes this is a Christian sight. I think it benifits both sides if there are non-christians here.
I myself am an athest and will most probably be banned for being so.
I come here not in hate but to learn from others and impart what I believe to cross analize them both. As an athiest I am happy. I have yet to have sexual realtion, do not pleasure myself, nor am I gay. I am just like you in all aspects minus beliefs. So saying I have no reason to go on or that I will kill myself is not neccassarily true. I am content with life being a moment to moment random event kind of thing.
Saying as well all we do or are good for is to be apart of the inqusition is actually not true as the inqusition was santioned by the church and carried out by its followers. We hold more jobs around than many as well we serve just as much purpuse as you guys do really. Thank you for your time there is more but i shall wait to see what you say to the currents beore continuing.

And you would think WRONG: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9)Originally posted by Randy Ham View PostI would think that a god who knows my mind and personality better than I do would find some way of showing himself to me.
For some reason, God has always chosen to select one individual (like Moses or another prophet) and inspire them with His Words and wisdom and speak only to them. The rest of us must believe in that individual (who was led by God - 2 Peter 1:19-21, of course!), or in this late, great age, believe in the BOOK they wrote - the KJV 1611 Bible - which has been translated and translated and passed down through the ages via God's Providence.
Makes sense, doesn't it?

That doesn't even make sense! A religious person knows God without having to see Him. Indeed, we cannot see Him this side of the veil.Originally posted by Randy Ham View PostIf you have two religious people, one who has "seen god" and one who hasn't, then the former has had his free will removed by his vision, and the latter has had his free will removed by churches. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I thought this wasn't about making me happy. I thought this was much more important than that.Originally posted by Didymus Much View PostErrr, no, just that he doesn't care about making you happy.
I feel like if I was specifically designed by a god to think the way I do, then he has the responsibility to show himself to me, if it's important to him that I know of his existence.

Mr. Ham--You are making no sense whatsoever. It's obvious you do not understand God and Jesus are more powerful and real when they stay out of sight.
Just because you feel special, you think they should reveal themselves to you. You can learn of their reality by getting down on your knees and asking for forgiveness.
There might be hope, but it will soon be out of your reach.

Re: Att. ATHEISTS: What is the Purpose of your SAD,Sorry lives?
The thread asked for atheists specifically to talk about what gives their lives purpose. I answered the question that was asked, nothing more. I have never claimed to worship satan, nor will I ever.So you come to our private Christian forum to spew your ignorance and to proudly proclaim your worship of satan? You are a fool, and you are bound for eternal torments in the fiery pits of hell unless you turn your life around and accept Jesus Christ as your personal LORD and Savior. TODAY.
Why would I live in denial of a god I knew was there to protect me? I must say, it's a very comforting thought. But I can't believe things simply because they're reassuring. I have to decide whether the reasoning is valid to believe them.Son, I strongly encourage you to pull your head out of your ass and quit living in denial of the proof of God written on your twisted little heard and evidenced all around you. You may think you have all the time in the world to get on your knees and let Him enter you with His Love, and that you'd love to put off your inevitable acceptance of Christ (Romans 14:11-12) until your deathbed. Your plan is flawed, however, because God simply may not feel like waiting on you to quit dithering.
I would think that a god who knows my mind and personality better than I do would find some way of showing himself to me.

There is still something I regard as divine though, and that is the universe itself.
The way I see it, in the off-chance that there is a conscious willpower governing the universe, it is simply a cosmic energy holding the balance as a part of the universe itself, not as a separate entity that created it. I've often speculated that matter itself has a will to form into systems, from the smallest atom, to the human body, to the biosphere, to solar systems, galaxies, and so on. However this is merely a speculation- I can't prove it to be true, so I won't present it as though it is.
I guess the one thing I am sure about is that everything is made of the same most basic particles (even more basic than atoms) and therefore we are all one and equal with every rock, tree, animal, star, and galaxy. We are all members of a flowing and balanced nature and universe, and we should strive to protect nature and our fellow being. That is why I will be studying environmental science and conservation ecology in college- my purpose and calling in life is to help conserve the beautiful wonders that matter has formed.
I suppose technically speaking, this puts me somewhere in the middle of atheism, agnosticism, and pantheism.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
The Scriptures tell us that after death, there is only Judgment. The time to accept Christ is NOW!
