Use a shotgun. Not a hand gun.

Though a revoler is probaly the best hand gun in use.

I think 2 is a good age. By that time they have pretty good balance and are coordinated enought to load the gun.

That is when I started Tater.

Illinois, eh? Are you closer to Sodom-on-the-Lake or SINt. Louis? Do you spend weekends bent over on Halsted Street, or in the Truck Stop restroom on I-55?

Disgusting. And YOU'RE the one complaining about living too close... Get right with The Lord, son, before you catch the AIDS.

What's with all the necroposting recently? Really...

And in response to OP, you're letting him be sent to an American Public School with just a handgun?! For shame! You might want to get him something with a little more kick if you expect him to make it through lunch time.

Unless the kid homeschools, or goes to a school on church property, if he is caught with a gun it will probably be confiscated.

Stuff and nonsense Brother Monty! If your grand nephew doesn't have a pistol to play with by the age of 5 he will be firmly on the path toward sissification. I recall getting my first pistol from my uncle Donald "Rummy" Rumsfeld on my 4th birthday. It was an old Walther P-38, one that his father had taken off a dead wop in Italy during WW2. Oh how I loved to shoot that thing at the piccaninnie servants for target practice. Ah, memories.

Quite understandable. I wouldn't go near the average American school without full body armour an automatic rifle and several handguns.

By the way, I have this Brit friend who is interested in selling guns to American school children. Do you think the market needs more players? There are always more school children coming along, he argues, so therefore, with proper marketing, his firm would stand a chance.
