Main religion in Finland still is Christianity. That has not always been like that. We were a pagan people until 15th century when total reformation was implemented. Sad but true the Lutherians gave Finnish people two choises: Believe our God or die. Well that's just not cool. If religion cannot get any followers without forcing, that is a bad religion. And for Talipallo's quote: he didn't say that he is Jesus. He just said that Jesus had long hair, so what is so bad in having a long hair?

I think you are referring to filthy catlicks that are not True Christian. Anyway, they did in many cases good job. If you read your bible, you notice that actually it forbids you to kill True Christians. Otherwise it actually demands us to kill faggots, unbelievers etc. Read the forum, there are good posts on this with scriptures referred.

I am TRULY SORRY for giving the finger, but it's far less offensive than many of the posts here insulting Finland and Finnish people. Why is it so hard to understand there are no Eskimo in Finland, and why is it such a major problem :-D Eskimo has nothing to do with this whole thing! Please let me laugh. I know my heritage, the family on my mother's side is from eastern Finland, and my father's side arrived from France in the 1700's. Can you answer me, please, why you think I am Eskimo when my appearance is completely different from the people who live in the very north of North America and Greenland? I'm a Finnish guy and I find this post little offending. I'm now 27-years-old and I watched moomins lots when I was young. There's not any other childrens animated series which teaches tolerance, goodness, respect and understanding better than moomins. First of all: Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden haven't fornicated. What kind of animation for children would that be? It'd be sick! They - yes - sleep together, but that's just innocent. And if you define openly sexual relationship if they hug or kisses other's cheeks you are so living in the box. They are more like a brother and sister. I've slept with dozen of women without any other agenda than getting some sleep. Well I'm an atheist AND I'm able do that. Sorry for you if you are not. Who's perverted now? Second of all: Eskimos/Inuites doesn't live in Finland. They don't even live in Scandinavia. They live in Greenland and in parts of northern Canada. I don't understand how you define "living in satan's pocket" but if it means that they believe in more peaceful god(s) than your's, maybe that's true - for you. If your god makes you to beat random people, break the law and be prisoned, what that tells people of your god?) And thrid: Why the murderous attitude towards Japanese people? Every forum and every post in U.S sites are full of pearl harbour this, pearl harbour that. Ok there was killed 2,000-3,000 U.S soldiers and that is very unfortunate and sad. But the reason for this massacre was in hands of one person only, the emperor of Japan. The Japanese soldiers was merely forced to go there and do those things. And there was U.S soldiers there and soldiers, well, they die in action now and then. Whattabout the two nukes that U.S.A dropped into Japan? That killed 200,000 Civiles in one year. Wouldn't that be enough already?
My opinion is that some users on this forum is so prejudiced and closed minded that they don't know much about goodness. Only bad and horrible things, which they disguise as God's will.

Here is a Wikipedia article about "eskimos" or inuits, as they are politically correctly called these days. There is no mention about inuit people living anywhere near Scandinavia, and as I am a Finn myself, I can confidently say I am tall, blonde, blue-eyed and my skin is as pale as it gets.

Finland is one of the most developed countries in the world, and we have one of the highest standards of living. Finnish people are also highly educated – see, I'm writing nearly perfect English even though my mother tongue is Finnish. How many languages does and average American speak? I do not mean to mock you, but as I read through the entire thread, I can't help but wonder how low your level of sophistication and general knowledge is! There was even one post, where and American said New York is not in America! :-D York is in England (from where many immigrants arrived to America and stole the land from Native Americans), New York is in the North-Eastern cost of The U.S.

I suggest all of you take a good look on facts before telling them as truths. Moomin comics were made by Tove, as well as her brother Lars Jansson. The comics were originally for adults, and they had more and less use of drugs in them. The books are for adults as well, but during the past decades The Moomins have become a childrens TV show as well. I watched Moomins throughout my childhood, and learned a lot from them. Yet I am not a deranged person in any way, and I think it's awful of you to call my childhood heroine, Snorkmaiden a whore!

There is absolutely nothing I can say or do to make you understand that there is no Eskimo, igloos or walrus in Finland. And Samí people are not Eskimo either.

Religion should be for people who need something to rely on, and to give advice on how to live a life appreciating other people and doing good things to each other. Not for bashing other countries and cultures, and calling innocent cartoon characters whores.
