My name is Patrick and I come from the land of "Moomins"
I´m 47 year old Christian from Finland and I believe in the true God and Jesus Christ!
When I first read this topic, I tough that it was a joke, but unfortianully I noticed that Christians who attendet this dialog are ded serious

I come from the the town where the author, Tove Jnsson, who wrote these tales come from.
Towns name is Porvoo and is located 50km east from Finlands capital Helsinki.

For thet person who says that we are Eskimos, should go back to scholl becouse he/she do have big problems in basic knowledge!!!
Please, do not throw oppinnions if You really don´t know about basic things....If You have problems with them, I´m willing to help!

Ok, back to the topic;

Moomins are a fairytale. It`s an tale of humanity and christianity. The author, Tove Jansson, was an very humanistic(and also Christian) person who wanted to tell tales to children of taking care off eachother!
These tales do not have anything off paganism or satanism, more over off the universal code of to be a Christian!

I´m very scared off Christians in Unitadet States - Your basic knowledge off the world is very poor - You don`t even knoe off the basics off the geograffity.....that´s very scaring!
For this "Escimo person", some basic knowledge:

Finland is an independent democratic country, which is located in northern Europe. We are part off so called "Fenno-Scandia" in which belongs Sweden, Norway, Island, Denmark and Finland.
All these countries have a very democratic wellbeing society(far more advanced that You have in Use), where all citicens have free education(from the scrach to the academic finals), free healtcare, strong citizenchip and equality(sorry, we don´t have as rich people that You have in the Usa, but in common Our sociaties are mire rich than Yours).
In all the Northern countries we are lutherians and in some We have "State Church".
We have strong economy and all the Fenno-Scandian countries have leading manufacturies in vital bussinesies.
Because We are small countries We do have to learn foreign languaes, and We are very good at them(how about You "eskimo guy"....do You speak any other language that Your own......I challenge You to have a discussion about Christianyty in some other language that You or I have.....You have a free choice off it, and I will teke the challenge )!

And for the "Escimo-person", and also for the others some facts about Finland:
We have been indebendent since 1917. We have fought two war against the Russinas, but kept Our independence.
We are brave, democratic and christian nation. We have always fought against brutaliity, unevenness and against "false" prophiess. If We have to fight against You, we will, because We trust in those believes that are written in The Holy Bibble and in common humanity.
Please, be the Nation that many Finnish people have looked up to....Don´t spoile it - Be thet what You have been in the past!!!
Mooomins are a fairytail - fairytail off humanity, not a paganistic or a satanistic siren song!

That might very well be, but God doesn't want us True Christians(tm) to be open minded. We should actually avoid people who think differently than we do:

Using the same logic as original poster, I claim your church satanist. You have wooden benches in churches, right? Also you like alot of candles, and you remember dead people by lighting candles. Wood and candles burn, what else is burning? HELL!

We don't like candles. That's what catholics do. And anyway, Hell is fueled neither by wood nor by candles, but by brimstone, so your example doesn't apply anyway.

We don't need to fill our children's heads with fairy tales and fantasies. The only book appropriate for children to read is the Holy Bible KJV1611.

This whole thread is nothing but people trying to find satanism where there simply is not. Moomins are friends of the the witches brother's/sister's daughter but isnt that a lesson in life to be open minded? Also, I read first couple pages and most answers by the original poster are that he has no idea what the moomins are, yet he is so strongly claiming them satanist, that is very ignorant to me.
