My middle son has been displaying signs of infernal influence as of late, namely, he has been showing a marked proclivity for using his left hand!
As we all know, the Bible indicates that the right hand is more Godly than the left, and that use of the left hand is a sign of foolishness.
Genesis 48:14-18
King James Version (KJV)
14And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
16The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
17And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
18And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
Ecclesiastes 10:2
King James Version (KJV)
2A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.
The Bible says that preference for the left hand is caused by foolishness. It says the cure for foolishness is the Rod of Correction.
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. -- Proverbs 22:15
Therefore the cure for lefthandedness is the Rod of Correction. QED.
I make all my sons copy Bible verses all day, Monday through Saturday, from dawn until dusk, as part of their homeschooling regimen. That was when I first caught him using his left hand.
Naturally, I beat him liberally, as God commands.
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. -- Proverbs 23:13-14
I don't have time to watch him copying his verses all the time, and Cindy Lou has to work in the kitchen, dust, rearrange the furniture, etc. So I devised a way of making sure he doesn't use his left hand. I know that if he is able to complete the assignment, then he has cheated and utilized his left hand. So I beat him.
If he fails to complete the assignment, I beat him anyway, of course, for disobeying me.
I figure all this beating is sure to expel the foolishness "bound in his heart" that is causing all this lefthandedness.
Does anyone else have kids who disobey God by favoring their left hands?
I declare, it's just like having a little homer in the house.
