I am amazed at the lack of knowledge of the bible displayed by so may christians, the upside down cross is not a satanic cross, but the cross of St Peter who was crucified upside down as is more painfall as penance for betraying Jesus. It also states that man is created in gods own image then it follows that god is all things and everywhere so god therefore is also a goth. And was Jesus not persecuted for being different. You are everything that is bad in this world.

We are given the freedom to choose in our lives I am a goth I play in a goth band. I have saved 5 peoples lives I have put myself on the line to help other people. Not because a book tells me to but because it is right. I have read the bible and taken its message. But unlike you I dont have to use it as a weapon or go to churches. I am not a Christian I believe in what I want to, I have beliefs and they are mine. Unlike you I respect other peoples right to choose I also am a disability advisor and work for a charity after being injured on duty.

So fit me in your hate filled stereotype then, it is thanks to people like you this world is such a place of hatred.

I've been reading through some of the anti-goth posts on this website for about half an hour now, and all I've seen are narrow-minded fools who are supposedly "open" to saving anyone through some ethereal being, of which the only evidence that exists of it's being is through a glorified book which the first was written 400 years after the events which it describe transpired (I firmly believe in this, and find the theory that there is a "God" or that Jesus was a miracle worker and the son of this ethereal force, and not an exaggerated charlatan impossible to believe. So please refrain from preaching to me about how I'm going to Hell, if I'm wrong then I'll enjoy my life and accept my fate).

The point is, you generalize your opinions goths based on infamous, over-hyped occurrences where a goth or even a person from a similar subculture is to blame, you only see the bad in them and thus assume that all of us must be the same. Well, what if we did it to you? I could just as easily throw you in with negative stereotypes of your cultures, and call you all mass-murdering child rapists, like your Crusader ancestors who murdered thousands of innocent people simply for having a different view to everyone else. Or I could throw you all in with the KKK for the racism, although from some of the posts on here it seems most likely that almost all of you are in the KKK.

The problem with Christian extremists is that you are too ready to judge and hold prejudice over people.
Funnily enough, I:
- Don't worship Satan.
- Don't practice Satanic rituals.
- Don't want to sacrifice my son.
- Don't do drugs.
- Don't listen to Satanic music or death metal.
- Am heterosexual, I have a fiancee.
- Am against violence.

I personally have always felt a connection to a more varied and interesting side of life. I never really found that I could fit in with other people until I gained my independance and started taking on a gothic way of life. My fiancee is a genderqueer pansexual, and before you rush to Google, genderqueer means she doesn't identify herself as either definitively male or female, and pansexual means she does not see genders or material beauty - she loves the person, reguardless of either.


I love my fiancee very much, I have promised the rest of my life to her and everyday I try my hardest to make sure my son keeps smiling and is healthy, and he never stops laughing and smiling, and he's perfectly fine in terms of health. People always try and lecture us on how we should raise him, and say that the way we look will scare him, but we are doing fine evidently. And how can he be scared of something or someone if he is never taught to fear it? He will grow up with two goth parents, and we won't love him any less for it.

You talk about goths as though it's "what" we are, and that's wrong. Being a goth is who we are.

I don't think anyone say's you HAVE to be a member of our church. There's many True Christians(TM) on this forum who don't go to Landover Baptist because they live elsewhere in the world.
