I think DeviantArt is a wonderful website, that has been spoiled by Satan.

That's like saying a sewer is spoiled with feces, or a landfill is spoiled with rubbish. It was made to be spoiled and people like it like that- not good people, but the people who use it non-the-less.

While I do not agree with everything that is uploaded there, I do not make the rules, nor do I think that the whole site should be removed when there is so much to be gained from it.

One of the best things I've seen on that website was a journal post, made by a Christian girl. She posted amazing quotes and links to great proofs that God exists.

There is no proof of God. God made it so that he must be only be believed with faith so, unless God lied, you are saying God did a very bad job of what he set out to do.

That girl sounds bad.

She also debates politely with others, either until she convinces them that God truly exists, or until it is obvious that they are stubborn in their ways.

Uh, some people are SO stubborn, I know. They keep to their logic and their reason and their evidence and refuse to submit blindly to God and live by His word.

Words are powerful, the Bible has proved that. But, words can be limited by language.
And art can destroy those barriers, DeviantArt provides a great way to see or showcase artwork.

Or you could go to a Christian art gallary and not a website filled with gay porn and smut.

Now I will not be surprised if someone dislikes my post, and flames me or something along those lines.
But I know that this is something God put on my heart to write, and so I have.

I just didn't feel that I could leave it without expressing my opinion.

I have read through all 35 pages of this thread, and frankly, I'm distressed and sorrowed about it.
Before I start, please do not misinterpret, or twist my words. As I have seen it done previously to others.


I have been a Christian all my life, and continue to grow with God each day.

I think DeviantArt is a wonderful website, that has been spoiled by Satan.

It is terrible that I go on there fearing what may be on the front page.
But what I CHOOSE to see, is wonderful artworks or literature.

I have seen the most terrible things on that website, and I have seen the most amazing things on that website.

I do not believe it should be shut down, and I know that 95% of the so called 'pornographic' content cannot be seen without the users consent.
And that the staff for DeviantArt work hard to filter it, and remove or flag any artworks that make it through the gaps.

I've sent the journal to my pastor, and he agrees with me that it is a great post.

Now if the site had been taken down in the four years this thread has been up, I would've never seen the post. Or be inspired by the magnificent artworks I've seen on there.

I cannot believe how ignorant you people are. My intentions for coming here were to augment my faith, and one of the firsts posts I saw were to take down an art related site. Didn't you know every image of your god man has made is art? Are not WE art of god? Didn't HE saw us nude in the first place?

I will not follow a stupid book whose real intentions are keep us away from what we do for a living. I would now rather die and burn in hell than give up art.

Why is it that you heathen always come here and start to rant that Bible says this and that and Jesus was all love on so on and Bible says complete opposite? You haven't read the Bible, haven't you? I mean all of it, not just pieces of the New Testament?

People THINK that God is loving everybody (except gaysexuals) and he made everything to us to enjoy. Why? Because some people has twisted the message in the Bible to their own purposes and teach it as Christianity. First they did it to gain power over other people and now just for the money.

If you take just some scriptures from the Bible, yes, you can make Jesus look like all loving hippie liebral, that really is just putting things out of context that is often other believers.

Other misunderstanding seems to be that we HATE something when we are just judging as Bible demands us. It is not we, it is the God how hates gaysexuals and democrats.

Hope you now understand and repent, we wouldn't like you to burn in hell.

I disagree on that account, deviant art is a wonderful community of artist who encourage and inspire people all across the world with their artistic talents, just because some people upload pictures onto the site which all would agree are unsavoury, doesn't mean that you should condemn the whole site and it's users.

I agree that there are pictures which are inappropriate and a vile attempt at getting noticed, however I believe that the team working at deviant art are doing their up-most to crack down on these things. But you must remember that they cannot pick up on all the pictures and often they slip through the cracks- they are after all, human and thousands of pictures are posted daily the majority of which are not nudes or in any way sexual or offensive.

However, a lot of the nude pictures on the site are not in fact focused on sexuality (granted a lot are) but the beauty of the human body that god created. surely you cannot say that it is wrong to glory in that which god himself created?

Next, in response to the comment below saying something along the lines of "god meant for us to wear clothes." this, is not true. In the genesis story it tells of how Adam and Eve were nude and only realized that there was something 'wrong' with that after eating the fruit of forbidden knowledge. I.E he created humans to be naive and to be free of superficial things such as clothes.

Through out the bible, there are many inaccuracies and contradictions, to many to mention. this leads me to believe that it is not in fact written by god, the holy spirit or Jesus, but in fact by people who were radical thinkers (in the time when it was written they certainly were)and who wanted to teach life lessons and promote love. However, this was warped and twisted by men whose main goal was power. they uses these separate books to control people to make them think the way they want and ultimately get the masses to do what they want to do this they formed the 'holy bible' and said it was written by people who were guided by the holy spirit. This theory has been proven, time and time again. Millions of people were killed in the crusades supposedly because the people on the other side were evil but the real goal was power, wealth and land.
Even to this day, religion is used as propaganda. eg. The KKK who killed (and likely continue to do so) to retain power, slaves and supremacy.

And you, people on this site, you who believe completely and unquestioningly in the 'holy' Bible have been mislead! why would god want you to kill? to hurt? to hate? He wanted us to love to enjoy his creation and not destroy it with ignorance. why cant you see that? believing in the lies that have been told for thousands of years wont save you from hell. Not when you have hated so. And I pity you for that; so warped are your minds now to the false truth that you can no longer see what Jesus preached. Now all you can see is people who think differently so they must be wrong, they must be heathens and devil worshipers!

Sadly it is not just the Christian religion who is thus warped. most religions are the same; so blind they cannot see the beauty before them. It greatly saddens me that ideas that began as pure have been thus polluted by greedy and evil men-it saddens me more so that you people cannot see it.

And so, now I have told my opinions, go ahead and call me what you will- I know what is right and wrong and I shall pray for you who does not. Though, do try and reply intelligently, it will only amuse me otherwise.

Can you back your assertion with Scripture? I was under the impression that God appreciates our fear and obedience rather than some vain sense of individuality.

Well why i wouldnt been allowed to believe in what i want, If you believe in tomorrow you can believe it. If i believe that God appreciates us all in the way we are I surely am allowed to think like that. And Very Mature to change my nickname since Dont you guys believe in Satan too? I am an evancelic christian boy who has been baptized i have been confirmed and have had A CROSS wich was given me the day i got confirmed by church for a year on my neck. and you people dare to accuse that i believe in satan in bad way. You people are so rude to anyone who doesnt think the same way as you do and that scares you. you are scared of anything new. for example why cant you accept any games for young people i bet you would have something against for as simple game as "rock, paper, siccors" and then you are ruining the artwork of musicians by changing the lyrics of their songs it is called ART as much as your gospel music. I am 100% sure ur kids would have WAAAAAY better childhood if you would let them do things that NORMAL kids do!

wow!!! im not a perv i was not promoting people to go look at nude pictures.. I am a christian person who post her art on there and i dont get on the site for the nudity none of my art has nudity in it. i dont understand how you miss read my post but i do not think i should be called a sex perv. but then again you are not the one who judges me it is God and he knows all!! it makes me sad that people on here are so quick to judge when its not their place and they are so quick to scream hate at people when love is suppose to be spread! again i do not understand why i have been call a sex perv. everyone here has been concentrating their anger at a website that has a few bruises from a few bad people. i am sorry that you think that i am a sex perv but im trying to open peoples eyes to the good things about the site and not the bad thing! i have been taught alot on the site about techniques for my art. but never once did i have the disgusting thought of going there to look at nude pics! now if you have young children and you fear that they may see nude pics. then do not let them go look at it but as for me i am a grown adult! i am mature in my ways and i dont have thoughts of going to the site to look at that horrible stuff my parents raised me better than that!! there is no need to shut down a site that connects people together for a good purpose!!

I am truely sorry for those people who can not look past those nude pictures and see the other beautiful pieces of art. I am a christian and i believe i was blessed by god to have the talent of an artist. i love my art and the art of others. and if you went to the website to look at nude woman and not appreciate the art then that was your issue. It was not the issue of the truely talented artists on there. Why punish everyone for the crappy actions of others. all i hear is hate coming from you. i dont want to sound anger or hateful just voicing my opinion.
