Re: Please pray for my Daddy
Rebekkah and I had a pleasant day today. We went out for brunch and then to the stonemason to discuss a head stone. They had some lovely granite pieces there. I am sure Daddy would be pleased with the choice.

Re: Please pray for my Daddy
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Sister Charli and I hope you'll forgive me for not responding earlier. Unfortunately I've been away.
I'll spend an extra hour in my prayer closet tonight praying for your wonderful father, who's with Jesus now, and that you may be comforted in your sorrow.

Re: Please pray for my Daddy
Psalms 40: 1-17.
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed [is] that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O LORD my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which] thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: [if] I would declare and speak [of them], they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
17 But I [am] poor and needy; [yet] the Lord thinketh upon me: thou [art] my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

I thank you too for your call. What a small world it is. Pastor John and Rebekkah have told me a lot about you and your late wife.
I will certainly consider the offer you made re caring for your sons and let you know in due course.

Sister Charli

Re: Please pray for my Daddy
Oh thank you so much for your generosity Brother James. There are still many loose ends I have to deal with here in Australia. There will be the reading of Daddy's will Monday morning. And I still have to finalise a granite headstone. I am going to be busy for a while yet.Originally posted by James Dewitt View PostPlease come stay with us. PM me and the jet is on the way. YIC James

I do appreciate the phone call I got from Sister Phebe. It was soo comforting after such an emotional service. It must have been the middle of the night Freehold time. That was just so sweet of her to stay awake to call me. What a wonderful lady Sister Phebe is and I look forward to meeting you both at your Iowa wedding ceremony.
Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Re: Please pray for my Daddy
Dear Sister Charli-- Forgive me for not responding to you earlier. The time of woman was upon me. As I live alone, I do not have need of a menstra-shack, but I do exile myself from all human contact at that time, be it in person, over the phone, or on the internet.
My prayers are with you during this difficult time. Your faith will tell you that your father is with Jesus now, be at peace with the knowledge that you will join them both when the Lord wills.
You really should take up the Dewitts' offer. Christian fellowship is the best thing for you at this moment. While in Freehold you can attend services at Landover and perhaps meet others similarly in need of support.
You know that Jesus has a plan for your life. Keep reading your Bible and the next leg of life's journey will be revealed to you in God's good time.
Sympathetically Yours,
Handmaiden

Re: Please pray for my Daddy
What happened? Did somebody die? Do I have to go back and read the whole thread?

Edit
Found it! Sorry about your Dad Charli. If you need . . . well, I'm in Iowa so I can't really do anything. If you want, I can send you a ham. I'll of course pray for you too.

Not to be rude friend but maybe you should have read a few more pages before posting. I do not think vegimite is going to help anymore.Originally posted by landoverlover View PostHave you tried doubling the daily Vegemite requirement?

Daddy started deteriorating markedly when Australia got a single female, atheist, lefty, feminazi as a Prime Minister. He never ever thought he would see such a thing is his lifetime. And the decision for him as to who we should vote for in the upcoming election is killing him. The Greens have an openly homosexual leader, Coalition has a papist monk and Labor has an atheist communist.
I just don't know how to help Dad other than pray harder, make his favourite foods and keep house for him.

At last someone offers the sort of assistance I have noticed missing from the "gentlemen" of LBCOriginally posted by James Dewitt View PostMy dear Sweet Sister, Phebe and I are very sad that you are all alone. As you know Phebe is from Australia too, and she can't stand the thought of you sitting in your empty home alone. Just say the word and I will dispatch my private jet to fly and pick you up. You are welcome in our home for as long as you like. We have a large home with plenty of room. Sister BIG lives right across the street from Phebe and I, so you won't be alone any more. Don't worry about money, you really don't need any. I have two very good Joo lawyers that can help with any insurance problems. Please come stay with us. PM me and the jet is on the way. YIC James
I was only trying to assist where others were not prepared to put themselves out at this time of Sister Charli's need.ps Stay away from pasta boy, he is a sure fire ticket to HELL.
