I found this post whilst searching for, "Save City of Heroes," and I cannot even believe what I just read. I mean, at first, I thought, "These people have GOT to be kidding." But then I read through some other posts on this forum, and I realized that you were not.

Before I begin, let me share that I am Catholic. Always have been, always will be. I was saved by my own choice, and I'm proud to say that I love Jesus. I don't hide that fact at all. Because I love Jesus, I read His word daily. He died on the cross to save me, so the least that I could do is obey Him; however, I will say this: I'm sorely exhausted from seeing things like this. How can you people be so judgmental? It's like you take from your faith only that which will fuel your hatred. Forum signatures full of hatred... Really?!

Now, I don't know why I'm bothering with this, because every time that I encounter such hateful "religious" people, I find that I am never able to get through to them with sound logic. Maybe Jesus directed me to this post to share His word with you, to remind you what He said. Jesus taught us to love thy neighbour. In Matthew 7, Jesus explicitly talked about judging others. He said, "Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and He will apply to you the same rules you apply to others. Why, then, do you look at the speck in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the log in your own eye? How dare you say to your brother, 'Please, let me take that speck out of your eye," when you have a log in your own eye? You hypocrite (side-note, I noticed a forum signature that says that hypocrites will be damned)! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will be able to take the speck out of your brother's eye.'"

Now, if that doesn't ring a bell, then I ask you to remember a story from John about a woman whom Jesus saved from being stoned. She was guilty of adultery, and according to the law of Moses, she was to be stoned to death for said sin; however, Jesus said unto them, "Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone." Every man left, and Jesus asked the woman if there was any man left to condemn her. She replied no, and He proceeded to tell her that therefore He, also, would not condemn her. "Go, but do not sin again."

In case you still don't get my point, Jesus' love knows no bounds. Jesus took lunch with sinners - remember Zacchaeus? I'm sure you do; I mean, you're all perfect Christians, right? So perfect that you can hate and judge others? My point is that you take messages of hatred from the Bible and run with them when you're supposed to be taking messages of love. Judging is for God - OUR job is to love our fellow man, end of story. Our job is not to point fingers and hate our fellow man, no matter what his crime; after all, Jesus didn't.

Now for City of Heroes. How dare you? I play City of Heroes because these days, I'm frequently ill and unable to leave the house. I've been ill off and on since I was a child, but now I have a very painful disease that's almost taken my life on more than one occasion. I play City of Heroes to interact with people when I am unable to in real life, and I've made some good Christian friends in the game. I play it on difficult days such as Mother's Day, a day from which I am excluded because I am infertile due to my illness. Sadly, having had eight miscarriages and one stillborn at twenty-three weeks pregnant (just two months ago), I suffer very much. Yes, Mother's Day takes my empty arms and makes them feel like the Grand Canyon; I mean, it's already so difficult to live in a world full of pregnant bellies and strollers everywhere you turn when all you know is loss and empty arms. When you can't have that. Look up "bitter infertile" - I'm not bitter, but I am very depressed and sad no matter how much I pray. Some days, instead of leaving the house and inevitably running out of stores in tears when I see a mother with a newborn gushing over her child, as I've done so many times, I play City of Heroes.

That said, I have an Empathy/Fire Controller character. She is a Christian character - her healing power stems from Jesus' love, and her fire is a reminder of what happens when one chooses to reject His love (granted, I make her fire the colour white to resemble her pure heart).

Yes, some MMO's are Satanic in nature, but this one is not - this one calls for people to be heroic. No, I'm not fighting to save something evil, I'm fighting to save something good. Look at this:
