I do hope you come back, apparently you are a woman with a sticking comma key who can read and that’s always interesting.
One of the reasons for rightly criticizing the wounded in limb and mind, is the thought that even were it to become practice to grant unfeasibly large sums of money and care to each one, it would not be a good thing.
Our troops are highly trained at great cost. The lessons of the training are hard learned and not to be forgotten. Anyone fighting God’s and America’s war needs to carry out that training. Fail to carry it out and the result is “wounded in limb and mind.”
So you see, by pandering to the lieberal, tree-huggers and handing out millions of dollars, the troops might think that it is OK to forget training and they will come back wounded as a result. We don’t want this.
Such misplaced compassion tacitly condones troops forgetting their training, disobeying orders and thus being wounded – this is the true tragedy.
No one wants wounded soldiers – are you surprised that we and President Bush, advocate a “light-touch” when it comes to support and compassion? This minimalism in care is for the good of the men, the good of the war, the good of America and The Glory of God. It encourages learning and obedience.
And back to the very first post, What do you think some soldier was doing shooting fishermen in the desert – clearly disobeying orders, ignoring training and as a result, he had only himself to blame – he had let down you, me, all of America and God. He was probably simply rightly ashamed of his neglecting his duty.
