  • DO NOT PLAY THE BINDING OF ISAAC.

"The Binding of Isaac" teaches children how to rebel against God's word... Nothing else to it.

The game starts with a little backstory that has a resemblance to Genesis 22 :
In short summary, Isaac's mother (a good God-fearing woman!) receives word from God that her son has become corrupted. She does a few tasks to remove evil from his life, and then has him confess his sins, under His command.
God then asks Isaac's mother to sacrifice Isaac, which she carries out (or attempts to) without question.

This is where it turns for the worse.

From the story, it seems apparent that Isaac understands what is going on; so when he sees his mother heading to his room with the butcher's knife, what does he do?

HE AVOIDS THE SACRIFICE. This not only violates Ephesians 6:2 "Honour thy father and mother..." but also Proverbs 3:9 "Honour the Lord..." !

Now imagine a kid playing this and winning the game (which involves Isaac killing his own mother ). After winning, that kid would probably think he could just march on to Heaven and fistfight Jesus right then and there!

... Not like it would be much of a fight, of course.

Can you please provide a link for this game?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Yes, I too would like a link to this game. I am looking for something to offend me and this might do the trick.

Here's a link to the game's site, or at least the site for an expansion to the game called "Rebirth" (obviously NOT a true resurrection).

There's also some footage of the game on the site.

Re: DO NOT PLAY THE BINDING OF ISAAC.

I tried this out at a friend's, and found the story a bit distasteful as well. It's pretty hard, though. It took my friend (who owns the game) several tries to defeat the first final boss (you have to beat the game multiple times to unlock all of the game's contents), and still hasn't defeated the second one, to my knowledge.
But, it's not all anti-Christian. There are several other Christian things about this game, like:

            - All of the characters have biblical names.
            - If you refuse offers from the Devil Room, you can unlock the Angel room.
            - The basement Issac escapes to is full of evil monsters, a bit reminiscent of hell.
-You don't fight God, you fight Satan.
-He kicks his own ass for betraying God anyway.

I'm not defending this game. Like I said, I found it a bit distasteful as well, but it has some redeemable factors.
If you want to buy it, you can get it for $4.99 ***advertising removed by moderator***, though it would be better to wait until Steam puts it on sale. There's also it's remake, Rebirth, with more items, content, and different graphics, but it costs more.

*No it doesn't, your mother tries to kill you and you go into the basement a fight monsters.

*Your mother in the game is a deep christian and "god" tells he to oppress you basically taking away your toys, your drawings everything. Then "God" tells her to kill you, and you escape by jumping into the basement.

"From the story, it seems apparent that Isaac understands what is going on; so when he sees his mother heading to his room with the butcher's knife, what does he do?

              HE AVOIDS THE SACRIFICE."

*ANY KID WOULD RUN AWAY, THEIR PARENT IS TRYING TO KILL THEM. He doesn't know "God" told her to, he's just scared and confused and does a natural instinct...Run.

Now imagine a kid playing this and winning the game (which involves Isaac killing his own mother ). After winning, that kid would probably think he could just march on to Heaven and fistfight Jesus right then and there!

              * He doesn't kill his mother, Everything that happens in the game is just Isaac's imagination. A story he made up and drew on paper. The multiple endings even prove this. Although isaac is actually dead the whole time and is then reborn.

                Dear Friend,

We care about Jesus. We do not care about wild assertions about a game that seduces our youth to witchcraft and sodomy!

So what the makers of this video game (Atari, Sega? I loose track of these things) want is for people to idolise this Isaac boy over Jesus?

                  Exodus 20:1-5 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Anyone with a lick of sense can see this is simply more liberal hate speech against Jesus .

I bet nobody goes to jail because of this but if one decent Christian dares not to bake a cake with a tumescent penile member on it for some homer he will get a heavy sentence, I can expect.

                  Thanks, Obama!
