I looked it up. This article is a mental exercise on how to twist the Word of God into something that it doesn't say.

Please note that this article cites two out of several Biblical passages which prohibit women from being pastors, and they cite exactly zero (out of zero) Biblical passages that would support a contrary position.

Therefore, I conclude that this article is unchristian because it rejects the teaching of the Bible.

You're not my brother in Christ, and you are anything but humble. I find you to be aggressive, vexatious, and lacking anything resembling humility. You deny the Holy Word of God due honor, and argue that it must mean something that suits your own preconceived moral code. Your rude demeanor I can can overlook, as you are naught more than a product of your breeding, but your attack on Holy Scripture is utterly unjustifiable and completely without excuse. You will find out on the day of Judgement just how far you have strayed from the straight and narrow. It is my one and only desire to see you have access to the Real Holy Gospel, and not one of Brazilian Invention.

All we ask is that you show that YOU know the Bible. Why is that offensive?

If by "controversial" you mean "Bible says one thing and the secular laws/ethics say another thing," then I agree. In my opinion, there is no controversy - just follow the Bible and screw ethics!

And this is the problem. You seem to think that the Bible needs to be interpreted. Do you really think God is so cruel, that He would give as a Life Instruction Manual so complex that it needed to be "interpreted"? We believe that the Bible is not to be interpreted, but read as is. I mean, it is written in plain language, and if you really, really read it, you'll realize that there is not much room for interpretation -- unless by "interpretation" you mean "discarding the parts of the Bible that do not agree with own worldview."

You really should look up "ad hominem attack."

OK, let's follow your line of thinking, as a thought experiment. If the Bible is something that needs to be interpreted, and there are a 100 people reading it who have 100 interpretations (you can see how many interpretations of the Bible there are by looking up the total number of Christian denominations, be it Protestant, Orthodox, Eastern, or Catholic-derived), then how do we know which - if any - interpretation is correct? Do you really think God would screw with our minds so much? Isn't accepting the literal understanding of the Holy Bible the most logical one?

Again ad hominem instead of actual arguments.

Feel free to provide evidence for this claim. I assume you're reading a Portuguese translation of the Bible, but you know what? The book chapter:verse notation is the same in all languages, so you can look up any verse you want to share here: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/

and copy+paste it into your reply.

I am still waiting for you to address -- using Biblical support -- the issues of women teaching in church, discarding parts of the Bible that are not "convenient," and also the questions raised by Brother Zechariah, the "nobody is perfect" and "God loves the sinner" things.

I really would love to have an actual Bible-based discussion with you. In your next reply, I hope to see more Scripture and less personal attacks!

    Dear Mary Ethelda

from a true bride of the lord, and sister in Christ, i expect a little-bit more respect with brothers in Christ, guests as my humble me. The fact that some perverts trans-vest them-self as pastors, and abuse the sheep of their church, is not restricted to the country were i live. Rather than search for mutual edification in knowledge and growth in the word of God, you come up with abusive language, and examples, that are a big exception, not the norm, and try to degenerate my countries image. Not a nice behavior. Most or our pastors in Brazil are genuine servants, and take their ministry seriously, with true devotion.

But i can come down to your low level of grotesque accusations, and remember you that some perverts calling them-self pastors exist not only outside of Brazil, but also in your blessed nation. Examples ?

I'd of simply pointed at you and motioned over as so often is the case when dealing with those that have a limited ability to understand words. Did you know a good hunting dog can learn close to 1,000 words. Something to aspire to.

The sister of my wifes mother is a pastor of a home church,
How often does she preach this verse:

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

As a woman myself, I'd never try to teach a man or usurp an authority over a man (1 Timothy 2:12), because I am a humble servant of God who knows her place:

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.

and her minstry is undoubtly a blessing to many church members,

My dear, God has given you the free will to believe whatever you want.

Just bear in mind, that the Holy Bible is not something that you can choose whatever you want and discard the rest. Jesus is very clear about that:

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

So yeah, you can believe what you want, but if you don't believe what the Bible says then you're going to Hell.

    Dear friend

i will not call you brother in the time being, since you show some kind of severe heresy and deviation from the true doctrin of the bible, and as it seems you are possessed by the deceitful spirit of the anti-christ. The bible is clear that Jesus and Jah and the holy spirit are God alone. There is no tolerance in regard of this fundamental doctrine. So i urge you to come back today to the right path and faith, before its too late. I suspect strongly, that if you die today, with such a erroneous and sectarian belief, you will end up straight in hell like the poor souls which were singing following at the bataclan in Paris, moments before the devil came and took their souls :

As the French death metal fans were singing along with those lyrics, offering their love to Satan, the Devil responded as the Devil always does. With death and destruction. Now, you go ahead and spin that any way you like, any way that makes you feel comfortable.
