What the Bible drives home again and again is that females need to be virgins when they marry and men need to beget heirs with them. If a young woman is menstruating, then she is old enough to marry.


This is a norm in all sorts of societies. Once a girl starts her menses, she has an entirely different status in her community. She is no longer a child and has to be watched and guarded because any self-respecting manly male wants to make sure the boy inheriting his property is actually of his blood.


Women are both sneaky and stupid (Eve was not talking with the serpent in front of Adam) and anytime they spread their legs without parental approval, problems result.


Touching on Brother Doctor Professor White's mention of secular law, in most states, a girl can marry as young as 12 or 13 WITH parental approval. Now, some young women do not begin their menses until 14 or 15. If the parents want grandchildren, and since marriage exists to populate the planet, it would make sense for parents of not-yet-fertile daughters to refrain from signing on the dotted line until the young woman's ovaries kick in.

The Bible does, in fact, sometimes indirectly address the suitable betrothal age for women. We must remember the uplifting story of Isaac and Rebecca. We know quite a lot about them based on the Bible, but sometimes the Bible also gives us a reference that we can follow. This is exceptional and, obviously, not quite as reliable as the Real Thing (i.e., the Bible), but much more reliable than any observational science. The Book that the Bible cites sometimes is the Book of Jasher.

Joshua 10:13
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

No dear, she's correct. If you read the Bible as a Whole, the context is clear. Salvation can neither be bought nor sold (how could it be?), so your question is moot.

In reference to your second Scripture, which is rightfully quoted as thus:

This is a historical event the Bible shares for our righteousness. It is not an open command to discomfit the Amalek today, unless you are that selfsame Joshua who, under Yahweh's personal command, led battle after battle to erase from the face of the earth those free-loaders who had pre-squatted the land of milk and honey from the Israelites.

And the third, which is taken from First Samuel, by the way,

And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

Nowhere in the Bible are we warned against or forbidden the use of guns. The verses that you posted don't even hint at such a concept and including them is shoddy workmanship if you are trying to construct an argument.


If you really do want an answer, the "sword" that you need for your protection is Jesus and such a sword cannot be bought. It is a gift from God to sinful humanity. If you read the New Testament, you will see its main theme is that Jesus bought and paid for humanity's sins through His Blood. This doesn't mean that all of humanity is forgiven, though. You have to accept the gift by admitting your utter worthlessness before The Lord and asking for Jesus's Blood to wash you clean. Then you have to "go and sin no more". John 8:11
