    So what's God of the Bible's real name?
    I never claimed they didn't, I meant that not everyone prefers it like that. Kudos to you if you do, but at the end of the day what matters is that you are reading the word of God.
    YHWH is God's name, the exact pronunciation is unknown due to written hebrew not having vowels.

    At the risk of being labeled a lukewarm heathen, I prefer NIV, it's easier to read. After all, making the bible available to the people was the entire reason it was translated to the vernacular in the first place!

    Actually, I have read the bible. I just prefer not to idly brag about it. After all, Christianity is not a contest to read the bible the most. Also, I operate not so much on amusement as an interest in affairs at large, in all circles of life.
    Is "my sort" disappointing to you? How sad, that you find humans to be disappointing or boring. I find them to be quite interesting, personally, and I make them my study. Your group may be concerned with perfecting holiness in themselves and setting themselves aside. That's fine, and that's respectable. But I prefer to be out in the midst of things. On the one hand, I maintain the mental health of individuals by providing support, and on the other I lead them to Christ.
    "Children playing hopscotch in the middle of your chess matches"? I would not say that applies to me, as I am mainly here to observe. But as for others doing that... that's just a fact of the internet. Believe me, as a moderator on several platforms, I can attest.

    Amen, dear Sister Handmaiden! Miss Locke will regret not taking seriously. If she would join with us in serious study of the wondrous , then she would know that amusement will be something she will never experience again — after the has executed righteous judgment on her!

    Matthew 13:41,42:
    41 The Son of man shall send forth angels, and they shall gather out of kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
    42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    So how little of the Bible have you read, anyways?

    As you have indicated with your little sleepy fellow smilie, her presence here provides little of interest to our community of Bible scholars. She is neither amusing or challenging, but rather, like many of her sort, deeply disappointing--no wait. I have misspoken. I can't say that I am disappointed per say, because her initial post never really indicated any promise.

    Still, I do feel a generalized sort of letdown, because the visitors to our site have failed to provide any worthwhile, thoughtful content. I can deal with those who take an opposing stand--as you yourself have done--but I weary of children playing hopscotch in the middle of our spiritual chess matches.

    Most likely, the sinners of the world do still go to pool halls, Miss Locke. You won't find anybody at at such places, though. We are too busy serving the — in true holiness!

    Dear Miss Hammady: How about, "Hello, ladies and gentlemen"? I will have you know that this is that you are visiting — not a pool hall that is full of hooligans and other rejects of society.

    Now, then, I see that you have missed our friendly requests at the top of this page, which is not terribly surprising. I shall include those requests here, for your benefit; so, please, at your earliest convenience ....

    The introduction forum Attention Unsaved Trash: This the ONLY subforum you can start threads in. Here is where you introduce yourself. Tell us what church you go to and what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus.

    Hello, back. Now, please note, what you wrote was a greeting, not an introduction. Do step back and read the instructions posted at the top of this sub-forum; that would be most appreciated.
