As for you brother James, Syrdon is indeed a demon in the religion of the Ossetes. Now think about it : does being a demon in a false religion really make you bad ? I don't think so. The Ossetes were - and still are btw - a bunch of Jesus haters. So what's against them must be good.

Not necessarily. You are falling into the trap of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Jews and Muslims don't get along (see Israel/Palestine conflict) yet both of those cults are enemies of True Christianity(tm).

I think Brother James' point is that we are supposed to seperate ourselves from heathens and their influence (see Ephesians 5:11). When Christians create names on here, they use their User Name to reflect themselves. I guess naming yourself after a pagan demon isn't the best way to present yourself.

I must say you're right : people here in Switzerland hate muslims, which is good, but a lot of them hate Jesus as well, which obviously is not ! They banned minarets, but they might as well ban Churches in the near future for all I know.
So, I must endure my daily plight as best as I can, keeping in mind He constantly watches over me.

Normally, I would suggest that a foreigner seek out the nearest Baptist Church but I see you are in trouble from the start:

Hello Brother Temperance, thanks for asking.

I'm afraid that I don't really have a "favourite verse", that's an american notion I guess. I personnally love the scripture as a hole.
But if I really had to choose, I would maybe say :

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
or
Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

Now, of what where my sins and how I came to find Jesus, I will not tell. At least not now.

I come from the very unbiblical Land of Switz, where I live surrounded by atheists - and maybe worse, people who don't care at all. Human petty laws are the only ones they value, and secular principles the only ones they live by. Quoting the Scriptures only make them laugh their pretentious laughter (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about), and that hurts very much - especially when I think about how they will eventually end up. But they don't listen, never do.

As you said brother Jim, conditions are harsh for believers here, but I reckon this might just as well be a challenge God set up for me, to test my faith.
