I'd be interested in any Scripture you have to back that up.Originally posted by derky101 View PostFor example, I have met people who believe that Jesus is white(obviously not the case) but this site has an award for "being white as Jesus".
Personally, I don't believe that God is a darkie of any kind, so I don't see how His only begotten son could be.

I never joke. In fact, my wife Ethel tells me I have no sense of humor at all.

We are here to guide Sinners to Salvation through Jesus Christ.Originally posted by derky101 View PostSo what Im trying to figure out, is this forum for real or is this mostly divine revelation/sarcasm/etc? I know that is a joke, but some of the people with the "award" seem to be serious. I'm confused.
So, joke or no?
There is nothing funny about The Bible. There is nothing funny about spending Eternity in the Lakes of Hell.
Do you think that we have created this huge Forum "Just for a laugh?"

Sometimes it's alright to burn people.Originally posted by derky101 View PostI have very strong feelings about how this country should be led, and often can offend or burn people without knowing it or meaning to.
Genesis 38:24
And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9Originally posted by Levi Jones View PostTell me your belief on faith vs. works. Post scripture to back it up with your seminary education.
While we are saved by grace through faith, you will know a Christian by his works; it is not the works that save him, as the works are only the fruit by which we know he is a Christian.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:18
So no, I am not Catholic, if that is what you want to know.

Never done an intro before...
Well, I was asked to do an intro on myself, which is new to me...usually I just pop up on a forum and eventually people just get to know me as we go, but I guess its only fair I introduce myself, so ya'll know what you are dealing with.
Ya'll can call me Derk. I was raised in church and was saved at a young age, but in my teens fell away for some time into unrighteous living because I did not truly believe. However, through this struggle, I began to really seek the truth on my own. I began to study not only Christianity but also other religions, searching out the "contradictions" that each one had. I eventually returned to Christianity, as I could find no real contradictions in scripture, and found that the Bible was just too right to deny. No other "Holy Book" I have read came anywhere close. I returned to Christianity and a few weeks later surrendered my life to ministry.
Since then, I have been consistently studying scripture at a couple of different Christian Colleges and Seminaries. I do open air evangelism and go on the occasional missions trip as much as I can. I am deeply involved in the college ministry at my Church and am part of the leadership there.
My greatest weakness is that sometimes I can get too Political. I have very strong feelings about how this country should be led, and often can offend or burn people without knowing it or meaning to. If you could help me with that brothers, by helping keep me accountable for what I say, I would be greatly obliged.
So now ya'll know me. If you have any questions, fire away!Tags: None
