Re: How do you guys know its Jesus?

I am a little concerned about your "feeling" that Christianity is "right" and linking your perception to geography (and indoctrination). Here is an example:

I've highlighted a single word: so. This links cause and effect. I feel (A) therefore I think (A).

Feelings and thoughts are two different things. Liberal theologians often confuse the two because, having rejected the God of The Bible, they lack clarity. Religion is not feeling. If it were, Jesus would have recognised Buddhists. He did not. Just because someone makes up a godless universe and starts selling statues of themselves for people to worship does not make it true. Schleiermacher did not sell statues, but he did sell books in which this "Religion is Feeling" nonsense becomes a substitute deity leading within just 2 centuries to œcumenism, deterministic psychologies of the individual, homosexual faux marriage, substance abuse and debauchery wherever one looks it revolts me.
Here he is rabbitting on about the trancendental condition:

What does your metaphysics do – or if you want to have nothing to do with the outmoded name that is too historical for you, your transcendental philosophy? It classifies the universe and divides it into this being and that, seeks out the reason for what exists, and deduces the necessity of what is real while spinning the reality of the world and its laws out of itself.
You will find this on page 19

together with some apposite quotations, notice in particular Quote 1 (if you scroll down a bit)
EDIT: it might not show up - just read page 22

You seem to be spinning definitions of God out of yourself in much the same way.

Well actually there is NO chance of escape. Death and HELL FOREVER is our certain lot. Rescue is all that remains

If religion isn't able to back up its statements with reasonable logic, its expected to be called a cult.

Logic is a product of Greek philosophy, a vain deceit .Colossians 2:8. leading to exactly the error you've fallen into. God is very clear: If religion is able to back up its statements with reasonable logic, it is a cult.

Don't hold your breath, Brother Donkey. These kinds of people won't even apologize to Jesus for making Him cry.

What's wrong with being gay? Obviously there is plenty wrong with being gay, I just wonder why you think that.

Absolutely correct. I make a point of being watchful for such types and make doubly sure my young, naive, nimble fingered young Nephew knows about them, too.

These two sentences are contradiction. If you have received the Holy Spirit there is hope.

    Christianity however, makes perfect sense
If Christianity makes perfect sense to you, that is a sign that the Spirit is working in you. See my reply to Rusty above.

I want to make sure that the god I worship is the true one.
Let's face it, Moltor, you already know God exists. He has revealed Himself to you through creation.

Rom 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

It is the height of wickedness to suppress the truth, what you know in your heart: that God is real. Deep down you already believe in God. You just have to stop denying it. Can we remove that obstacle? But belief in God's existence isn't enough to save you. Even demons believe God exists, but they aren't Saved™.

Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

All you have to do, once you have acknowledged what you already know, that God exists, is call on the name of the Lord.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You could do that right now. Don't put it off. You could die tonight.

Lk 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee.

Hello Pim Pendergast. That is the Bible verse I was thinking of I have now marked it with a Post-It note. After your explanation I agree with you that there is not a contradiction. I think that we can both agree that logic is not required though especially after you included 1 Corinthians 2:14.

I still believe the weather is not logical.

    Thank you.

I believe this is the verse you were referring to, Rusty:

Is 1:18-20 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

This is not the kind of reasoning Moltor is referring to, so it's not a contradiction. God reasons with His people thus: be obedient and everything will be okay; rebel and you will be destroyed. When we reason with God, He does all the reasoning.

There are many verses that speak against using logic to understand the Gospel. This is one of them:

1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Man in his natural state cannot receive the truth. It seems foolish to him, however much logic and reasoning he applies. He cannot know it without the Spirit.

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

I do not pretend to understand what this means maybe a pastor will come along. I know that I have had laughter and sorrow and I prefer laughter even though my photo looks sorrowful. I was happy when that picture was taken. My face muscles are messed up.

As for that verse, I think that it just wants us to say that when we are happy, we take everything for granted. We absolutely forget about God, and our roles. It doesn't mean that we should be sad all the time, just to be aware of the sin, that happiness sometimes brings with itself.

    Dear "Moltor",

That strong feeling you have is caused by the Holy Spirit pushing you into the right direction towards salvation. You should trust that feeling, the same feeling that guided you to this forum, and start studying the Holy Bible to learn about God and what He wants from you. Doing this will be the difference between eternal happiness in Heaven and eternal damnation to the fires of Hell.

Unlike what some false Christians like Catholics and especially that extremely liberal Pope try to teach you, it is very important to study all of the Holy Bible and not just the parts that make you feel good. To help you in the transition from someone who rightfully feels Jesus is guiding him to a True Christian I would advice you to study Biblical Facts which contains some highlights from the Holy Bible in a compact format. After reading it you will no doubt want to do more Bible study for which I recommend my How to Study the Bible guide. If you have some doubts as to Christianity being the only true religion, just read about The Miracles of Jesus and all your doubts will disappear.

    Yours in Christ,

    Pastor J.C. Manning, M.D., Ph.D.
First of all, I want to thank you for your kind words, Pastor J.C Manning. I can feel that I am driven by something, to this glorious forum. To be honest, I think that my doubts, are just a result of bad media influence. Public schools are the same, at least here where I live.
