Re: Valentine's Day: Christian Custom? -- or Pagan Holiday?

This is all true, I do find Valentines day to be a day of lust and sexual tension to us the yet to be properly saved
The temptation to fornicate on this day is great, which just proves this day is an abomination against Christ.

Galatians 5:16 - [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

    Good question.

    Let me tell you.

You are right here in indicating that your american schools teach far too less about the vitas of the important Catholic saints.
It is sad, but it is never too late to learn.

It is also not mentioned in the Bible that you should follow the KJV only, and still your church is very strict to do so.
    What can that mean?

The Romans called the festival the "Lupercalia." The custom of exchanging valentines and all the other traditions in honor of Lupercus -- the deified hero-hunter of Rome -- was also linked anciently with the pagan practice of teen-agers "going steady." It usually led to fornication. Today, the custom of "going steady" is thought very modern. It isn't. It is merely a rebirth of an old custom "handed down from the Roman festival of the Lupercalia, celebrated in the month of February, when names of young women were put into a box and drawn out by men as chance directed." That's the admission of the "Encyclopedia Americana", article, "St. Valentine's Day."
That is a false legend, and if you would have diven deeper into Catholic saint-history, you would have found out that the connection came about because traditionally birds are supposed to pair on St. Valentines feast day, februar 14th.
Surely you find nothing pagan in birds, since the Holy Spirit came down to Jesus at his baptizing in the form of a dove
It is a fact that in Austria the Erzbistum Mainz is in possession of very special holy reliquies : Eggs and Feathers from the Holy Spirit.

St.Valentine was a beloved bishop in rome and stands for love, as does in truth the whole body of the Catholic church

You must have no fear to choose your Valentine on his appointed feast Day, because the saint will surely bless you for that

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

SATAN HAS REALLY SHOT HIMSELF IN THE HEAD WITH THIS ONE!

I was reading Galatians this morning where the error of observing "special" days is made quite plain. Yet for so many this pagan festival is something to look forward to! The Bible is clear that the oppisite is true: it is a bondage we have been released from.

    from GALATIANS
    3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
    3:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world..
8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
    KJV .. look up

Imagine the single employee in a card factory. There she sits punching ornate lacework into cardboard hearts, creating syrupy poems about, lets face it, obsessional sex compulsions. Herself all alone and do we need to imagine her temptation to spit on each one? Of course we don't.
Punch, spit, punch, spit, this is exactly the sort of behaviour glorified by Sid Vicious and his nauseating girlf.

Free Market Fred would never tolerate such antics and neither should we. Because after work she is more inclined to yet another temptation: seeking a paramour of her own. At any Valentine saturnalia there we may see her. Standing alone with fluttering eyelid, inadequately dressed, seeking whom she may devour and in the relaxed atmosphere many of us will remember from our unsaved days why should she care who it was? Or how many? Pauper or prince it's all the same to her.

Satan has outcome in store for anyone following his demands in this. Luxury or squalor are no bulwark here and lust is never an excuse. God is clear. This path leads to HELL. FOREVER.

Thank you for this much needed dose of truth, Pastor Zeke. I knew Valentine's Day was a Catholic racket, but I had no idea just how profoundly un-Christian it really was.

My husband gave me this card after our formal dinner tonight. I had made chicken soup, cole slaw, pot roast with vegetables, and a pecan pie.

I hope my dear husband has not done something ungodly? Perhaps one of the pastors should spend some time counseling him.

Here is proof that Valantines Day is evil (is may even convince all the gatheists out there).

Everyone's favourite Nazi mouth piece discussion board "Stormfront" endorses Valentines Day as well as crypto fashist catolick doctrine! I received an unsolicited email thus:

I stopped reading as soon as I was sick in my mouth; which was immediately.

Yes ma'am they do. Valentine's Day is such a gay holiday that queers are overwhelmed by the impulse to rape and will insinuate themselves into Christian communities where they can persecute the just out of jealousy because God does not love them. Gays are also particularly active on full moons and Halloween, but Valentine's Day most of all. Part of it is the Catholic/Pagan origin of the holiday. Gays also love the solstices and equinoxes, if their gay nature wasn't obvious. Everything pagan is pretty much gay, or perverted in some comparable way.

On Valentine's Day I am not even going to move my bowels. In fact, I am just going to stay in my prayer closet all day so I don't get raped.
