Creation Museum Says Black Folks are "Hamites"

Surprisingly — or not? — the Creation Museum openly promotes the belief that black people are the descendants of Ham, father of Canaan, whom Noah cursed to be “servant of servants”. This Biblical belief, once used to justify slavery, seems to be on the rise again.

Ham? And was their mother Cheese? What are you talking about?

Ham was one of the three sons of Noah. You remember Noah, right? He’s the man who, with his wife, his three sons, and their wives, provided no warning whatsoever to anybody over the course of 100 years that the Lord was going to flood the Earth. (Not what you heard in Sunday School? Try the Bible, friend!)

After the Flood, Noah and family set forth to incestuously repopulate the Earth (Genesis 9). Noah decided that, since food was somehow abundant, despite the obliteration of all life on Earth, he should tend a vineyard and make wine instead of growing actual food. Apparently, Shem, Ham, and Japheth took care of growing the real food.

Noah gets hammered. Let’s see what happens!

Genesis 9: 18-27

18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

So . . . Noah cursed Ham’s son, Canaan, to be “a servant of servants”.

According to the Creation Museum, Canaan and his descendants populated Africa. They were called [the nation of] Canaan, or Canaanites.

Populated Africa . . . That’d make them black folks, huh?

The argument that Noah cursed all of Canaan’s descendants has been used for centuries to justify the enslavement of black people. And Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum continues to promote this belief.

But, Ham cries, I’m not racist! I'm just following the Bible!

That’s right. According to Ken Ham and God, those dark-skinned people in Third World nations are uneducated and starving to death and riddled with disease because their ancestors deliberately rejected God.

So why, I ask, do we keep sending aid to these people? Why do we not just send them Bibles and missionaries, so they can find God, and then be blessed like Americans?

It's so obvious that this is what we must do!

Perhaps some of the descendants of Ham, the slow(er) learners perhaps, further aggravated God, and suffered another curse, and became the Mooslims??

And I note, the Mooslims aren't good for anything, even in a servant of a servant role, so it is possible they are a more accursed form of the Hamites.

I'm unaware of any Scripture for this, but it seems to explain some things.

Well, Ken's last name is "Ham". He is also from Australia, where the kangaroo eating Hamites live. That must mean that he knows a thing or two about the subject.

I'm unaware of any Scripture for this, but it seems to explain some things.

If I recall correctly, the Muslims tie in with Ishmael, a result of Abraham's unholy fornication with Ishmael's mother. Now maybe she was a Hamite, or maybe because Abraham's name contains "ham", or maybe because Muslim don't eat ham. But I think you are definitely on to something with the Muslim/Ham connection.

Now my son Jedediah who also reads the great Christian information available on the Forum to his younger brothers actually think there were two Negro's on the Ark. Can you please explain that this was not so and Negro's came later.

While it is a common misconception to lump negroes (particularily those apelike pygmies and hottentots) into the "animal" category, which makes a lot of people assume Noah took a breeding pair of negroes along with the giraffes, gorillas, turtles, etc., the negroid race did not come about until after the flood. There are two reasons for this: The Bible tells us the negroes came to be after Canaan was cursed; that is postdiluvian.

Also, negroes couldn't be around before the flood AND after, because as we all know, negroes cannot swim. Pop quiz: Name a single negro Olympic swimmer. You can see my point.

Negroes are good and running and jumping. That's not surprising - it's an important survival skill for them. After they steal a woman's purse or get caught shoplifting, they have to run away from lynch mobs and the police.

Thank you for bringing up that link, Pastor! Indeed, I remember watching the interview on television and I saw nothing wrong with it. Mr. Campanis was simply pointing out a fact: When it comes to jobs involving abstract mental strength, intelligence, strategy, knowledge, etc. negroes are overwhelmingly underrepresented no matter the field. Whether you're talking about sports coaches or CEOs or particle physicists or mathematicians or Biblical scholars or engineers or whatever, there is always, always a shortage of negroes in those fields.

Personally, I thought Mr. Campanis' comments were actually positive and praising the negro race! I have bolded all the good comments he said about their kind.

During the interview Koppel asked Campanis why African-American managers and general managers were virtually nonexistent in the sport. Campanis gave a notorious response: "It's just that they may not have some of the necessities to be, let's say, a field manager, or, perhaps, a general manager." (Rev Jim: He didn't say negroes were stupid, just that they weren't cut out for the job. Could I be a sports coach? Probably not, I am a pastor. But it doesn't mean I'm stupid, even though I don't have the necessities to be a general manager for a baseball team. This is not racism by any stretch.)


When Koppel objected, Campanis responded, "I know that they have wanted to manage, and many of them haven't managed. But they are outstanding athletes, very God-gifted and wonderful people … They are gifted with great musculature (sic) and various other things. They are fleet of foot and this is why there are a number of black ballplayers in the major leagues."

I counted only one comment which could be seen as potentially racist (it was not) and six other comments which were positive! Why do all these racist negro protesters fixate only on the negative? This is the kind of PC politics that makes me one very angry white male!

Campanis was well ahead of his time too. About a decade later, The Bell Curve was published to critical acclaimed and near universal approval. I mean stuff like this is pretty much common sense, but it is sometimes nice to see it all laid out in a structured manner so as to convince even the most liberal fools.

It is no surprise to the True Christian™ that God's Word is repeatedly and clearly demonstrated in nature.

No, I doubt that, Sister Thumper. Salmon are actually good, powerful swimmers who race upcurrent to spawn. Any biologist will tell you that none of the apes (chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, gibbons, including negroes) cannot swim. Caucasoid and mongoloid humans are the only ones with swimming ability, not the negroids.

God designed negroes to be fast so they could chase down gazelles and hunt them. Unfortunately many of that race abuse God's gift and use it for stealing things or running from the police, like one poster said earlier. There is not much water in Africa (dry as a bone), so God failed to give an innate swimming talent in the negroes. In fact, if you take a white baby and put him underwater, he automatically holds his breath due to the mammalian diving reflex. If you take a little niglet, they breathe that water in and asphyxiate.

I learned all this at a Creation Science seminar last year. This stuff is all backed up by pure science, so we know it's true.
