Where do we get our morality from?

As we all know, atheists have no morals whatsoever. They are all evil, worthless, dirty and despicable. Since they don't believe in God, they don't believe there is any consequence for their actions, so they do whatever they want. Atheists are the single greatest threat to society!

Consider this. The other day I was shopping at the Wal-Marts, when I found a wallet lying on the ground. There wasn't anybody else around, so I could easily have taken all the money out. In fact, anybody stupid enough to leave their wallet on the ground probably deserved to get robbed. But I didn't. I handed that wallet into the store's lost and found. Why? Did I do it because my conscience told me it was right? Of course not. As the Bible says, humans are completely evil apart from God, and are so incapable of doing a good deed on their own:

Genesis 6: 5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Job 25:4How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? 5Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
6How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

Ecclessiastes 7: 20For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Isaiah 64: 6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

John 6: 44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    Ephesians 2: 1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

I did it because I am a Christian. I know that if I stole that wallet, God would damn me forever and ever in hell. An atheist, not believing in hell, would just have taken the wallet without a second thought.

Heathen Basher, you obviously love the Lord, and you are completely correct regarding the moral bankruptcy of the atheists. Nevertheless, you did not do the right thing by turning the wallet in to the store. The Bible tells us:

Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 1 Corinthians 10:24

Here, not only did you seek another's wealth, but you actually found it, and yet you let it slip through your fingers. If you ever find yourself in this situation in the future, I hope you will consider that the person who lost his wallet was probably being punished by God, and do the Christian thing and pocket the cash.

Re: Where do we get our morality from?

I dropped a $10 bill once in a store parking lot. Next to us, were people putting folding chairs into the back of their vehicle. This kid picks it up and hands it to his mother. I ask nicely for it back, but the mother says it's not mine even though she clearly saw me drop it.

My dad who was with me; said it was my fault and got angry because that money was for gas. He didn't see me drop it, or the lady pick it up. He thought I was lying.

So he made me walk all the way home. It took me over 4 hours walking

I know an atheist from work. He has tatoos and probably does drugs. I never leave anything laying around when hes around. We've gone drinking and I know hes a bastard, he can't drink as hard as I can.

God Bless you for your stalwart adherence to God's Holy Word. The only thing I might have done differently is to check the ID inside the wallet before making my decision. If it was owned by a joo, I would have immediately rushed the wallet to our high-priced accountants in the Landover Offshore Baptist Tithing Department, and had them process the credit cards to the fullest extent, on behalf of Jesus.

Excellent advice Pastor Ezekiel. I might also add running a background check on the ID through the DOF might be helpful too. Any outstanding warrants, or inclusion on the terrorist watch list would be good to know. The return of the wallet might be an opportunity for the authorities to nab a miscreant.

Additionally, I would hope that all True Christians would check for and remove any sinful prophylactical devices from the wallet prior to its' return.

Of course, the DOF should be informed if the wallet contains membership cards for terrorist organizations such as the National Education Association.
