Ecclesiastes 4-6
Ecclesiastes 4
1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
Everyone has a boss, but no one truly has someone to relieve them of the fear of death.
3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
An unborn child, or even a child of the future, is better off than the currently living, or the previously deceased. There is at least a chance that there will be no evil by then (or death) but everyone now, and everyone who has ever lived... will die.
6 Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.
It's better to have a little, and be happy; than to have a lot and be unhappy.
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
A good friend is one of the best things in the world. He'll help you up, he'll keep you warm when it's cold, he'll have your back in a fight.
13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.
14 For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.
A poor child will only be poor himself. A foolish king will ruin the entire kingdom.

Ecclesiastes 5
4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
When you promise something to God, you had better give it to him. You are better off not making that vow, than to break one.
10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
When you collect things, you will never have enough of those things.
11 When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?
Does anyone ever have all the baseball cards that they could ever want? If you have all the superman comics, you probably want another copy of issue 1.
12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
It's easy to sleep after a hard days work. It's not easy to sleep if you are counting all your money and worrying about how you'll get more.
17 All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

Ecclesiastes 6
2 A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.
How often do you see a man of power, with everything that he could want, but he can't enjoy it himself?
3 If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.

4 For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
He seemingly had it all, but he never was able to enjoy it.
9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
Something THERE, right in front of you; is better than something that you think might be elsewhere. Happiness is all around you; all you have to do is accept it. To think that things can be better elsewhere, that's smoke.
So what have we learned today?
1. Kids in the future will be better off than everyone now or before.
2. If you've got stuff, enjoy it, do not spend your time collecting things and never taking the time to use them.

Oh, what's that?
So now you say life sucks
Well, ninety-nine percent of it's
What you make of it...
So if your life sucks, you suck
So now you say life sucks
Well, ninety-nine percent of it's
What you make of it...
So if your life sucks, you suck
