This past Thursday I finally graduated from the year long Ex-Negro Academy which was founded in August of 2001 modeled after the original nationwide Ex-Negro Ministries in Pulaski, Tennessee, initiated by LandoverBaptistChurch in conjunction with its affiliates.
I must assume it was a private ceremony. Besides the various families that had individual students and select ex-negro alumni the auditorium was quite empty. Special guest speakers Mrs. Betty Bowers and Alan Keyes attended. I must admit I was a slightly perplexed to discover that my studies were in fact just the beginning. Upon receiving my certificate, as opposed to a diploma, I was told I would need to attend additional courses at Landover University to continue my education. As guest speaker Mrs. Betty Bowers pointed out, "The [Ex-Negro] Academy can be likened to a Brita filtration unit. Any good wife would dread the thought of exposing their husband and children to tap water crawling with impurities. Before tap water can be derived from secular liberal sources to be bottled and resold you have to weed out the impurities. Before that water goes on the market at $3.00 a bottle you have to be sure that it won't impregnate your daughter, raid your watermelon patch, or pawn your fine jewelry." I will have to contemplate the wisdom of this fine upstanding woman who everyone refers to as "America's Best Christian".
My certificate allows me to attend classes starting this fall. Those darker skinned students who were separated from us a year ago had apparently already graduated from whatever courses they had attended. They were on hand as the caterers, janitorial staff, seaters, and ballets. I had an opportunity to speak with one gentleman who told me they were slit up into several groups and given instruction in the services fields. Apparently there was no formal graduation for them. They simply received licenses to perform their assigned jobs and worker permits after the security checks were finalized. This gentleman also informed me that he had not seen the very dark skinned applicants ever again after the first day, which was 12 months prior.
The tuition prices to attend the University are pretty steep. With my job at the Creation Science Museum turning out to actually be an internship and none of my credits at the Academy being transferable to any other colleges I'm in quite a pickle. Because I don't drink or smoke, am single, do not believe in spending money I don't have, am not frivolous, have no bills, and cook my own food I've saved up a little nest egg. However, the University in Freehold would bleed me dry and how ever would I tithe and pay for books and classes? I was thinking about attending Northwestern College in Orange City, IA or the University of Sioux Falls, SD. Both Christian colleges and both are only around 4 hours away.
I'm thinking about getting one of those Astrive student loans. Any advice?
