Scripture tells us that many come crying the name of the Lord, but do not know Him. They have not repented and asked the Christ into their lives. They have not been born anew in the Holy Spirit. Such people are not the Lord's. They are the Devil's, even though they themselves do not realise it.

Galatians 5 has the answer: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Unfortunately I see very little fruit among the posters on this forum. I see a lot of anger, a lot of intolerance and a lot of hatred towards minorities such as gay people and black people.

This leads me to the conclusion that the vast majority of you are actually in a religion about Christ, but are without Christ in your hearts. You have no god, and that is why you have no peace in your hearts.

I will pray that you come to know God, and know peace!

Because it couldn't be the people who say they're Christian but don't follow the Bible because it's an outdated work of fiction. Couldn't be those people could it.

You're cherry picking the Bible and making stuff up. Where does it say that the people he doesn't know are the ones that didn't ask him into their lives? If I remember correctly the false christians are very surprised when they're being sent off to hell.

I'm not really sure how you got that out of Galatians 5. Galations 5 is repremanding them for stating that circumcision is the path to salvation. It's pretty clear that the Galatians were circumcising people and saying "there! now you're saved", which Paul was telling them was wrong.

We merely want to save everyone. Like Paul writes about sinners.

1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

If they do not accept Christ's temporary sacrifice for their sins, The Bible has a lot to say about that.

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Matthew 10:14-15 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Read Ecclesiastes 3
8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I see that you like to quote Paul outside the context of, say, the REST of the Bible.

Why is that? I look forward to your explanation.

Since you like quoting Paul so much, what did HE say about gay people?

1 Corinthians 6:9
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Oh, they're not going to inherit the kingdom of God. There's only one alternative: Hell. Paul is saying the homosexuals will all go to Hell, even if they're "nice" people.

What else did Paul say about homosexuality? Let's look at Romans 1:26-27:

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

OH! It's a "vile affection".

Neither Paul nor we hate homosexuals. We just know that their "vile affections" offend God, and will result in their "not inherit[ing] the kingdom of God". So, we tell them. You call this hate?

I call letting them go to Hell for all eternity and not giving them warning HATE!

As for Negroes, well the Bible makes it clear that they are cursed.

Clearly God is alive and well in all of our hearts how do you think we are able to recite the Bible with such clarity and understanding? I think what you need is a good ol' American KJV. You have completely jumped the shark here.

Only the passages concerning homosexuality are poorly translated? What about the passages concerning Christ rising after three days. I suppose those might be mistranslated as well?

Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9 and Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13. The case against homosexuals is airtight unlike the hind end of a sodomite.

The Bible has many passages about homerism. This is one;

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them

The Bible says nothing about homosexuality? Sure, rewrite the Bible all you want, but the REAL Bible is pretty clear about things.

Genesis 19:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. (And we all know what God did to Sodom)

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

1 Kings 14:24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

If it's what you want to hear, Scripture is plain. If it isn't what you want to hear then the relativists say well, you know, in the original Greek it means blah blah blah. Their interpretation always conveniently dovetails exactly with what they want, be it homer-style fudge-packing or rejection of the death penalty or any number of permissive feel-good things.

God's children are not, by and large, language scholars and don't have to be. The inspired word of God is unchanging and eternal, and accessible in the plain-spoken black-letter KJV1611 Bible to anyone who with eyes to read or ears to hear someone read it to them.

This 'situational scripture' heresy is succinctly rebuffed in Matthew 23:24: [Ye] blind guides, which strain at a GNAT, and swallow a camel.

And a final word, at least by me, on Marian and other saints worship,which has been tossed around in this thread: A study of catlick prayer requests three years ago showed that Jesus was SIXTH in line of those prayed to. SIXTH. Another thing all the Mackerel Snappers try to twist around. If you pray to a dead person to intercede on your behalf, that's worshipping idols. No more complicated than that.

AU contraire, it is the literalist who are guilty of that. Constantly misinterpreting what's there, misapplying it, and inventing what's not there to begin with. The Bible was written by God's people, for God's people. It is not intended for ignorant religious folk who want to feel better about themselves by worshipping a God they do not know.

If you are genuinely saved, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes, and you will begin to understand what Scripture is about. Otherwise, just keep reading what's there is black and white, and your foolhardiness will follow you to the grave.

Poor interpretation stems from the fact that the reader is not reading the Book as it was intended to be read (through the lens of the Holy Spirit). The Bible was written by God's people, for God's people. It is not intended for ignorant religious folk who want to feel better about themselves by worshipping a God they do not know.

And I contend that you are the one who lacks understanding about God. Perhaps this "lens" that you speak of has smears and specks from your own ego. You certainly do feel better about yourself the more you attack us; but that's what ignorant religious folk do.
