  • Glory To God!

It is a blessing to the world that Landover Baptist has been able to reach so many folks all over the world through the miracle of the internet web system. I have been a regular supporter of Landover Baptist since 2004, referring folks to the Landover Baptist Online Gift Shop and referring others to promotions such as "Get Saved, Get A Free Playstation". Despite my long time support and readership, this is my very first post on any internet web forum bulletin board system.

I am a Youth Minister at Seventh Baptist Church in a small town called Shepherd, Texas. Seventh Baptist is a small Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church which encourages members to witness the Glory of God to all who cross our paths. As I have done in the dozens of congregations I have joined in the past, I have assembled a small boy's choir at Seventh Baptist. I also offer private youth counseling and personal coaching for teen boys.

I became interested in youth ministry at the age of 13, when my mother (and homeskool teacher) read to me the story of Job (or as she called it "Iob" because of how it was written in our KJV 1611). I was mesmerized by Almighty God's ingenious plan to trick the bumbling devil into a wager with Him. God's ability to cleverly trick the dumb old devil inspired me to become as Godly as I could be and to minister to other youth in the community. I was eventually able to raise enough money through my local youth ministry to finance my missionary travels that have brought me to more towns and in contact with more youth than I can remember. Praise Him!

I am so pleased that the miracle of broad bands allows us to find so many more opportunities to grow and fellowship in Christ's name. Thank you to Landover Baptist for all that you do to improve America for His Glory!

Cleansed In The Flowing Blood Of Christ,
    Harry Lester
    Shepherd, Texas

    P.s.
I attempted to tithe through the "User CP", but there seemed to be some demon causing some sort of technological error. Please let me know the best way to send my offering, or let me know when the demon has been cast out and I can try again.

Slathered in the Fresh Hot Blood of the Infant Christ,
    -Youth Minister Harry Lester

Thank you so kindly for the warm welcome. My favorite Bible verse is in my signature line, however there are so many others to love.

1 Peter 2:18 reminds subordinates (or slaves) to respect those in superior roles so matter how strict or harsh, "Seruants, besubiecttoyourmasterswithalfeare, notonlytothegoodandgentle, butalsotothefroward." It's a wonderful scripture to help remind fussy students to trust that The Lord has their best interest in mind and to know that they will be better for submitting completely to their superiors as their lessons are delivered.

Concerning my wife and children: Sadly, my wife passed away suddenly several years ago while we were on missionary in Arkansas. As I was deep in a private coaching session with a member of my youth group, she unexpectedly returned from working the 208cc Briggs & Stratton tiller on the back fence line of our 122 acre garden. I became upset at her interruption and sent the boy away. During the course of what followed, she abruptly passed on. While it was unfortunate that the Lord called her away so quickly, it's important to remember that she had yet to bear me any male children and her blueberry pies were passable at best. The Lord does work in mysterious ways, and I know he called her up to make way for a more productive and less intrusive wife. Praise!

As for my guns, I try to spend at least an hour or two a week in the drainage area behind the church to maintain my target skills with the various birds and varmints in the brush. I am remiss this week as we've had such a hectic choir practice schedule. I mean to tell you, some of these boys can't hold a note to save their precious little lives! As punishment, I choose one each Wednesday afternoon to spend time in my attic and clean my guns for me. The Lord provides for those who are creative!

It's always gives me an especially warm feeling and a special touch of Jesus' love when a lonely, widowed youth minister drifts into town in an RV and volunteers to mentor our children. Fortunately, this happens two or three times a month in Freehold. I guess our community is blessed by God to attract packs of aging male youth ministers anxious for unsupervised one-on-one contact with fresh-faced Midwestern children.

            Good day Mr. Lester.

I think what you are doing is amazing. I have been touched by so many of my youth Ministers, and I know you are touching so many young children as well. Good bless everything you do. I prey that one day I can touch as many kids as I know you do.

            Praise Jesus.

My question is why do so many of them seem to have such a fear of dogs? My boys bring the Rotts with them and the youth pastors tell them to leave the dogs at home.

Rotts?!?! Oh, dear Christ Almighty, please have mercy! Sister Believer, for some reason dogs who reside with boys seem to be very interested in attacking me. I prayed on it and have come to believe that it must be that the scent of the dogs of boys somehow rubs deeply into my clothing from their clothing and incites other boys' dogs to attack. It is a terrifying experience, especially when the boys who bring the dogs seem less than able to control their vicious beasts.

I will say that after a dog attack, the family usually feels so bad that they send the young offender to stay for a couple of weeks in my custom attic counseling loft to help nurture me back to health. What a wonderful opportunity for the boys and I to come together, in Christ's name. He does work in mysterious ways! Praise God!

My Goodness! What a fine young man you seem to be. I see that you have a few grammar issues in your post, and that's just fine. It's an opportunity to learn. If you are ever down this way, or if you need bus fare, let me know and I will make arrangements for your personal tutoring. Nothing is too much for God's Children. Praise God!

Brother Worthington, your words of kindness are an inspiration! Thank you so much. I will say that Landover boys are legendary among traveling youth ministers who are fortunate enough to be invited to visit Freehold. Many is the night I have lied awake in bed and dreamed long and hard of someday knowing that glory first hand. I pray vigorously on it so often that my prayer towel is becoming worn out. I thank God for True Christians™ and their well mannered boys! GLORY!

Well I sure hope I see you there. I'm heading down that way this summer myself to take part in the ministries. I'm hoping to take some courses during my visit so I can become a pastor myself so I can spread the TRUE word of God to the heathens and hopefully save a few souls damned to eternal hellfire.
Only 2 in all of history have died for freedom all over the world... Jesus Christ and the American soldier.

I will be the first to admit that I am not the best at typing on a computer. I do get plenty of typos. My message is always clear though. Praise our Lord and Savior who brought us here to spread his Good Word. He is mighty, and only through him can we go the right path. God is great!
