    Vatican on Osama Bin LaDEAD: "do not rejoice"

    Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said that...Christians "do not rejoice" over a death...

    Chapter and verse please, you fraud! There are plenty of Biblical passages rejoicing over deaths, the first one that came to my mind was Psalm 137:9

    Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. That takes the infants from their mothers' breasts, or out of their arms, and dashes out their brains against a "rock", as the word (k) signifies; which, though it may seem a piece of cruelty, was but a just retaliation (against babies); the Babylonians (including their babies) having done the same to the Jewish children, and is foretold elsewhere (that is, God said it) should be done to theirs, Isaiah 13:16. Nor is this desired from a spirit of revenge, but for the glory of divine justice, and that such a generation of cruel creatures might be rooted out of the earth (after being raped, see Isaiah 13:16); see Revelation 2:2. Some allegorically understand this of crushing and mortifying the first motions of sin in the heart; but such a sense seems to have no place here.

      Jesus died on the cross for our sins, saving the universe, you know, the reason our symbol is a CROSS, you know, the thingey he DIED on?

        The point of Christianity (As i think, i ain't going to say any "absolute truth" kind of bullcrap.) is that Jesus Christ died on the cross redeem our sins.(If that's the right sentence.)
        Not that "Jesus died!Yay!", so christians do not rejoice death, but the redemption of our sins, the reason Jesus died on the cross.

          That's hair splitting - maybe we're not rejoicing "Bin Laden Died!Yay!" but the ending of America's humiliation, the fact that justice has finally been done, the long-term improvement to our security, the reason Bin laden died, twitching in a pool of his own urine and feces.
