  • Greetings from a bystander

    Hello!

My name is Asbjørn, I'm from Denmark, and no, I do not seek salvation.
With that said though, I joined this forum because I thought it would be healthy for my religion-studies to write with people of other religions, and hopefully not get blown to smithereens as a heretic. I saw this thread and thought I just had to speak up as well.

I'm personally a lutheran, baptized in the local-dominant faith, and raised on near-buddhistic philosophy.
I study math, chemistry and physics in the daytime, planning to start at university next year, with the intention to become a brewer.
I enjoy listening to, and playing, music. Mostly rock music and what's heavier, but don't write off a good hymn, carol or chant.

Most importantly, I really enjoy a good, sensible debate with well-thought and reasoned opinions. So fire away!

    2 Chronicles 15:13

I'm confused. Did you think this was a dating site? If you are interested in our religion, read the Holy Bible. It's good for you anyway.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

No, Mary, I have no intentions of using a religious forum as a dating site. I already have a lovely girlfriend, thank you very much.

And I have already read the bible, and a couple of iterations to boot too. In what sense would reading a book benefit my physical health? No, I'm just more interested in the local differences in this branch of christianity. I have friends who're mormon, lutheran, catholic and can surely find someone who'll admit they're orthodox. But again; I want to learn and debate, that's all.

Well dear, this is not a debate forum. We're here to praise Jesus and share the Good News!

He reads his terms and conditions like he reads his Bibles.

How terrible it must feel to suffer for all eternity in Hell, and yet understand none of it.

I do not see how this is relevant, as I do not violate that rule as of yet.
How is it wrong to ask questions and debate on a site labelled as a forum, with the intention of learning about different religious morals and mindsets, while striking a healthy debate?
And I have yet to be given a command or restraint from a pastor, even a member, in which I can follow or disobey, whichever applies at that given context.

Please answer these questions to prove you did indeed read the entire Bible:
                      1. What do you have to do to go to Heaven?
                      2. Should a disobedient child be beaten or killed?
                      3. Did Jesus demand love or hate from his disciples?
                      4. How does the Bible teach us, do we have to choose our friends?
                      5. Which sin will never be forgiven?

                      The clock starts NOW!!!

Sweetheart, this isn't A forum. It's OUR forum, and any rules and/or restrictions are made by our pastors, FOR US, based on the KJV 1611 Bible.

If you don't like it, it's simple. Go away. Nobody asked you here.

I'm sorry, but why do I need to answer this? I already stated, that I once read the bible, several years ago, once. Isn't it a bit harsh to demand answers from questions strewn across a massive religious text, which can be read and interpreted a thousand ways?

                            1) To go to heaven, you have to believe, live a dignified life and not break any of the 10 ammendments.

                            2) Why beat the child to begin with? Violence upon the unknowing is just planing a seed of destruction enough in itself.

                            3) As in personal demand? Because I don't recall Jesus demanding his disciples to either love or hate him, merely to follow him.

                            4) Isn't that more of a question you as a person can answer, rather than God?

                            5) “I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever.” — Mark 3:28-29 (CEV)
I knew that one, but that's more of a question against general belief rather than a sin. How can you be held against something you do not believe in in the first place?
