Thank you, Brother V, for enlightening us on His work.

However, I am curioius as to why Cain was given such a light punishment in comparison for what he did? As you have said in your past messages, he was only forced to wander, and he even built a city in the area as shown in Genesis 4:16 and Genesis 4:17

How does this compare to our contemporary punishment for murder?

    Brother V,

    In Genesis 27 and 28:
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Are these the 'early' folks that came before Adam and Eve?

Thank for taking the time to answer my ignorant questions.

hard to keep track with all the begettin going on.

Praise be to God for unfolding such a riddle to a neophyte as myself. No more than a lowly sinner and yet I see a glimmer of the glory.

I must return to the Bible in a year forum.

    Bless you Brother Rubicon!!!

My study of the bible is very rudimentary at this time. My comment was based on Brother V's teachings:

"According to most false Christians (who try to believe the creation story), there were only 3 people on the earth at that time. Adam, Eve and Cain (with the dead Abel). In Genesis 4:14, we see Cain saying EVERY ONE. Who else was there, according to them there's only 2 others. Of course Adam and Eve might be mad that their son killed their other son, but probably not enough to have him killed. So who were EVERY ONE?

Those are the people who were created on day 6.

Then we see the Cain took a wife from someplace else, a woman who obviously wasn't one of his sisters, (in verse 16)."

Please guide me if I have misunderstood Brother V's words.
We know from His Book (Genesis 5:2-4)that Adam was fertile for many hundreds of years after Seth was begat:

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
We don't know from Scripture how old Cain was when he began begatting, but if it was just a couple hundred years after his own conception, this is clearly enough diversity in the gene pool to avoid the issues of incest within the same generation.

We know that women are of little importance and their geneologies therefore scarcely documented in Genesis. Let's also assume that imbecilic or sinful male offspring were also not worthy of recording.

    Problem solved!

Cain could easily have been 400 years old and conceived with a woman many generations removed from his parents in Adam and Eve!

Praise Jesus Christ as he leads me to the truth at a pace I am capable of!

    Brothers,

    A lot of Begatin occurs in Genesis 5 1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:
4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
    Etc...

Perhaps the confusion is that hundreds of years passed between Adam and Eve and all the begattin they did. This may not be evident in the way God wrote Genesis. But if Cain did marry, he married kin. a 1st cousin at the outside probably 2nd or 3rd.

All that is for sure is Cain married. God so wrote it. GLORY!

    Note the plural "them".

Later in the chapter (verse 31) it is mentioned that it was the end of the sixth day.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

In Genesis 2, it mentions the end of creation, and the 7th day of rest.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Prior to the creation of Adam, men and women were just like animals. Soulless creatures. No different than a dog or a cat. It wasn't until God breathed a soul into him, that people gained a soul.

Later, when Adam and Eve ate the fruit, the rest of humanity became self aware.

Hope this helps explain my belief.

    Brother V,

I have been in prayer all day over this and am still waiting for the Holy Spirit to guide me.

Your interpretation is vastly different from what I learned in the pews. I was always told there was but one man and one woman, created in His image and, therefore, clearly above simple and soul less animals.

The biggest obstacle I see is reconciliation in which day of creation Adam (or "the man") was created. But we are clearly told that one male and one female were at least first created on day 6.

Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

This is "plural" only in the sense of two, or a pair. God did not say he created males and females.

If other men and women existed prior to Adam and Eve, why do we have no genealogies of them? We have extensive documention beginning with Cain and Seth, but nothing at all from any other original pairs.

Did they only produce females? If so, it would make sense as we know that women are of little importance beyond producing male offspring for Jesus.

    More prayer tonight for sure.

    Yours in Christ Jesus!
