I can't imagine how torturous it must have been for our dear LORD suffering in the inferno He and His Father designed to burn sinners alive in. I hope that satan didn't... you know...

Re: Jesus Christ spent 3 days and 3 nights in Hell
I think the preacher is a little confused
By "hell" in this case, he means the "place of the dead" Jesus went to to pick up those who had died before His coming: e.g. Adam, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph (Jacob's son), Judah, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Gideon, Samson, David, Joash, Josiah, Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Judas Maccabeus, Joseph (Jesus' foster father), Joachim, Anne, Simeon, John the Baptist, and several others.ACTS 5:29
There you have it-so WHAT'S STOPPING YOU COWARDS?But Peter and the apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men."

Re: Jesus Christ spent 3 days and 3 nights in Hell
Do papists believe in multiple hells? According to your own catechism (and may Jesus forgive me for quoting it, even to rebuke a Romanist), Christ descended into hell, and it doesn't say that "hell" actually means something other than hell. In fact, it says the following:Originally posted by Father Thomas Martin View PostI think the preacher is a little confused

Then again, you'll find out soon enough just what constitutes hell.

That's right. Jesus picked up everybody except for a slew of Catholic popes, because Jesus couldn't tell the popes from the devils.Originally posted by Father Thomas Martin View PostI think the preacher is a little confused

Here's an old print from Landover's library. Notice the coat of arms over the doorway, and the Devil's triple crown:
Lo the Popes kitchin where his Soules are fried,
Call'd Purgatorie, see his pardons tied
on stringes; his Triple-Crowne the Divell weares
And ore the dore the Popes owne Armes hee beares.A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left. (Ecclesiastes 10:2)

Re: Jesus Christ spent 3 days and 3 nights in Hell
Another thing, "Father", doesn't the Bible say Moses' body was taken up to heaven? Didn't Jesus have a chat with Moses on top of a mountain, along with Elijah, who was also taken up? If so, how can you say Jesus had to take him out of hell???
