A man is to love his woman just as he loves his favorite chair, gun or bowie knife. He is to treat her as a good possession, yes. But she must also realize that she is just around to serve him and to help him in everything (including making more True Christians(tm)). She is most certainly not his "equal"! Some lieberals will believe anything!

Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. That is the benchmark for love. Keep in mind Christ gave His life for the Church. So men are to love their wives as Christ did.

3. Men and women are equal.

Now, we've already established that Fish thinks the Old Testament - the majority of the Holy Bible, in other words - is useful only for balancing wonky tables. But he claims to follow the New Testament. So let's look at what it has to say about women:
I Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God...
8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

I Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

I Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

All these verses are NT. If there was a "New Covenant", this would be it. So, my Fishy friend, care to explain yourself?
