Church Abuse Scandal in Germany Edges Closer to Pope

BERLIN — A widening child sexual abuse inquiry in Europe has landed at the doorstep of Pope Benedict XVI, as a senior church official acknowledged Friday that a German archdiocese made “serious mistakes” in handling an abuse case while the pope served as its archbishop.

The archdiocese said that a priest accused of molesting boys was given therapy in 1980 and later allowed to resume pastoral duties, before committing further abuses and being prosecuted. Pope Benedict, who at the time headed the archdiocese of Munich and Freising, approved the priest’s transfer for therapy. A subordinate took full responsibility for allowing the priest to later resume pastoral work, the archdiocese said in a statement.

Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, said he had no comment beyond the statement by the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, which he said showed the “nonresponsibility” of the pope in the matter.

Perhaps Lombardi's first language isn't English, but it's "irresponsibility," not "nonresponsibility."

The Priest involved was accused by someone who was a known trouble-maker and had a history of tall tales. Nonetheless the Priest was sent, by Benedict, to get treatment on the very off chance a bad one had slipped through our very thorough screening process.

While under the care of so-called experts this Priest had the seeds of evil planted in him by these quacks and after they pronounced him fit he returned to duty and, by some unverifiable accounts, may have possibly acted in a manner construable in certain societies as occasionally inappropriate.

Benedict's only involvement was one of a caring Pope in the making seeking to help a child of God by arranging for therapy. That the Devil might use a German therapist to try and bring disrepute on The Church is no surprise, the Devil and certain Germans have been working in concert long before Martin Luther set the early stages for Nazi genocidal actions against the Jews and others.

Fortunately we are in a time when God has seen fit to give the world a German Pope who stands as a bastion of goodness at the gates of human indiscretion and who is an example of how God can forgive a people whose nation cultured and nurtured the diabolical Protestant Reformation... a tool of Satan designed to divide and conquer Christians.

If Pope Leo had been a German that whole problem would have been handled much differently but better late than never!

Basically I think this whole lot of "discoveries" of sodomy in Germany are just another plot of the catholic "church" to force sceptitcal people to accept the "homosexual marriage".

Besides, the recent "scandals" are just a way of the catholic "church" in Germany, which loses influence and believers since 1517, to recruit new preachers from the homosexual crowd. After all, we got no popular St. Patricks Day in Germany, so they can´t recruit the ususal drunkyards. Thus they must take their followers from the St. Christopher Street festival in Cologne.

I think that this sexual abuse of children would stop if Catholic priests were allowed to marry (women, of course). The bible is in total support of marriage, and a devout priest would never allow his marriage to come between him and God. Having sexual relations with ones wife is a good thing, not a harmful or sinful thing. It would allow the priests to deal with there natural urges in a way that isn't harmful to children.
