Re: Ask Fr. Tom
Why don't y'all admit that you're really pagan? You worship Mary and some fish-headed idol, among other things. You just ain't Christian, nor are you headed to heaven after you die if you keep on the way you are. Why don't you want to be saved?

But getting at the fact that he wants them to follow the gospel (he presents) as unquestiongly as were they his children.
It's in the verse you conviniently left out..
Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
1 Corinthians 4:16
"...as a SON [Timothy] with the FATHER [Paul], he hath served with me in the gospel" (Phil 2:22 KJV)
Like when God likened certain people to figs - that doesn't mean that they should be referred to as figs henceforth. Now should it?
You truly TWIST scripture.
"we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a FATHER doth his children" (1 Thess 2:11 KJV)
If I liken someone, like you, to that which you resemble:
That is a devil.. is that henceforth your "title"?
No, it is a but a likening.
"Look unto ABRAHAM YOUR FATHER, and unto Sarah that bare you: For I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him." (Isaiah 51:2 KJV)
Are you the LITERAL father of your congregation? Didn't think so.
Jesus was a faithful Jew and he certainly wasn't condemning the mere use of the title "Rabbi" which means "Master" or "Teacher" -- a title still used by Jewish people today. He was specifically condemning the improper use of the title for the Pharisees who were hypocrites "for they SAY, but DO not" (Matthew 23:3 KJV).
But why then did He say this to His followers:
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ;
And all ye are brethren.
Matthew 23:8
He said it because we have ONE master: God.
We are NOT to run around thinking we are special, or for that matter, need to be ruled by a priesthood!
WE ANSWER TO MAN ON NO ISSUE OF FAITH. ONLY GOD. AS GOD COMMANDED.
MATTHEW 23:30 -- "And say, if we had been in the days of OUR FATHERS..."
LUKE 16:24,30 -- "And he cried and said, FATHER Abraham.....And he said, nay, FATHER Abraham...."
ACTS 7 : 2,11,12,15,32,38,39,44,45,51,52 -- "Men, brethren, and FATHERS...unto our FATHER Abraham" (v. 2) "...and our FATHERS found no sustenance" (v. 11) "...he sent out our FATHERS first" (v. 12) "So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our FATHERS" (v. 15) "Saying, I am the God of thy FATHERS, the God of Abraham...." (v. 32) "spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our FATHERS..." (v. 38) "To whom our FATHERS would not obey..." (v. 39) "Our FATHERS had the tabernacle..." (v. 44) "...our FATHERS that came after...before the face of our FATHERS" (v. 45) "as your FATHERS did, so do ye" (v. 51) "Which of the prophets have not your FATHERS persecuted?" (v. 52)
"Men, brethren, and FATHERS...." (Acts 22:1) "...according to the perfect manner of the law of the FATHERS" (v. 3) "And he said, the God of our FATHERS hath chosen thee" (v. 14)
"...so worship I the God of my FATHERS..." (Acts 24:14)
"...hope of the promise made of God unto our FATHERS..." (Acts 26:6)
"...nothing against the people, or customs of our FATHERS" (Acts 28:17)
"What shall we say then that Abraham our FATHER..." (Rom 4:1)
Weak argument.
"...that he might be the FATHER of all them that believe..."
The true house of Israel. (Not the state so called)
Thus, Abraham is, quite literally, our ancestor.
Read Romans 9:6-8..
And further:
If we weren't the true house of Israel, Hebrews 8:10 would be a lie...
I hope you're not saying it is?
(v. 11) "...the FATHER of circumcision...faith of our FATHER Abraham" (v. 12) "...the faith of Abraham; who is the FATHER of us all" (v. 16) "I have made thee a FATHER of many nations" (v. 17,18)
"yet have ye not many FATHERS: for in Christ Jesus I have BEGOTTEN you [or "become your FATHER"] through the gospel" (1 Cor 4:15)
"...not that ye should be IGNORANT, how that all our FATHERS" (1 Cor 10:1)
"...exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my FATHERS" (Gal 1:14)
"Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a FATHER" (1 Tim 5:1)
Can't you read?
"...received by tradition from your FATHERS" (1 Peter 1:18)
"...the FATHERS fell asleep, all things continue..." (2 Pet 3:4)
"I write unto you, FATHERS, because ye have known him..." (1 Jn 2:13) "I write unto you, FATHERS, because ye have known him..." (v. 14)
Do you think "young man" is a title too? Instead of actually indicating a young person?
Hypocrisy really runs deep with you cathylicks..
Maybe I oughta rephrase the question:
Can you find me an instance of ANYONE in the Bible referring to a person as "Father this" or "Father that" and not talking about God, or a literal father..
You can't find it, cause it isn't there!
Calling priests father like you do is simply a way of trying to usurp God's role.
And as lousy as your arguments was..
That's one question then, 8 more to go.
Don't run off yet.Last edited by SalvationSeeker; 09-21-2007, 06:26 AM.

Several uses that justify the term "father"
"For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not MANY FATHERS: for in Christ Jesus I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU [i.e. become your FATHER] through the gospel....

Why do Cathylicks honor cannibalism? Why do you worship false idols? Who the hell do you think you are playing middleman between a man and the Lord (tm)?

Re: Ask Fr. Tom
Just to clarify -- when Salvation Seeker asks "where in scripture", he means REAL scripture, not those made up books you Catholics added, and nothing from the corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts or the Vulgate either. We only accept the Textus Receptus (i.e. KJV), the true Word of God here.

But the Bible tells us that true believers cannot sin! (1 John 3:6)
So a large multitude of sins would suggest a large number of UNSAVED persons:
Right there in the middle of the Vatican!
So if cathylicks were actually saved, how could all this sin ever take place there?.. In the very center of such a "holy" church..Last edited by SalvationSeeker; 09-21-2007, 05:08 AM.

Re: Ask Fr. Tom
Question 1: By what right does the pope (the whole cahthylick church as an organisation really) claim to be infallible?
Not even Peter himself was infallibe. (Matthew 16:22-23)
Are you saying you're better than him?
Question 2: WHY are cathylick priests called 'father'?
It is forbidden in scripture (Matthew 23:9) but let's, for once, leave that out for a second.
The question is: Why did you have to call yourself 'father' in the first place?
And I want a BIBLICAL reason, if you claim to be real Christians, that shouldn't be too hard.
Question 3: Where, in the Bible, does God say that Peter's God-given authority should get passed on?
And especially passed on through human decisions? And not God's own?
Do you doubt that if God wills to pass such authority again, He will make it known:
Thus you doubt His power?
Question 4: Why is sexual assaults (rape included) on young boys so much more common among cathylicks than protestants?
Question 5: Why aren't cathylick priests allown to marry?
Where in SCRIPTURE is this commanded?
Question 6: Why do you have so many statues in your churches, when statues and idols are forbidden in scripture?
(Exodus 20:4, Leviticus 26:1, Deuteronomy 4:15-19, Deuteronomy 27:15, Isaiah 42:8 are some examples of this.)
And I've seen cathylicks bow to these statues, kiss them, and claim they can cry - tears or blood.
Do you approve of such beliefs?
Question 7: Where in the Bible is this "transsubstanstiation" whatever nonsense mentioned?
If Jesus was talking literally when He said that you must eat His flesh and drink His blood instead of as a parable..
(He didn't say it literally though. Just read John 6:35, John 6:63, John 1:1 & Matthew 4:4.. That should make it obvious.)
So even if He did say it literally (which He clearly didn't) how could you, mere men, ever TURN A COOKIE INTO GOD?
Question 8: Praying to ANYONE except God, is forbidden in scripture, and the only mediator is Jesus. (Isaiah 42:8 & 1 Timothy 2:5)
So why do you pray to your "saints" and Mary?
Question 9: The cathylick "church" (pope included) helped Hitler extensively.
And since you claim "mother church" to be infallible, you must think that was the right thing to do, correct?
Or do you want to renounce your claims of infallibility now?
I have more questions.. But these will do for starters, heretic.
And they should be enough to prove that you ignore scripture and preach a different (ie unbiblical and false) gospel...
And that you are NOT Christians, but merely using the name.
Praise the Lord God and may His holy light shine through the dark lies of the damned heretics of Rome!
