    No, they brought you up with a blasphemous pagan cult.

    At least you're finally starting to realize that. You can still be Saved(c) . . . Why, Sister Mary Maria was once a NUN! I'm sure she can tell you her hair-raising tales of Satanic Lesbian Sex Rituals and all manner of perversion, if you're not too young for such things. Over 21, I hope?

    (Catholicism contains mature subject matter.)

    Mary = Human
    God = God
    that's what I have come to understand...
    Did you even bother to read the prayers I quoted? The final one, Consecration to Mary, expresses complete AND EXCLUSIVE devotion to a dead woman, completely ignoring GOD!

    My Queen and my Mother,
    I give myself entirely to you;
    Mary = Dead.

    God = God.

    The Bible tells us (if you bother to read it) that when we are dead, we are DEAD until Judgment Day, the Resurrection. First, those who are Saved© will be resurrected (the saints). They will join with Christ and rule in glory. The second resurrection will be of the damned, who will be resurrected, judged by the saints, and cast into eternal torture in the pits of Hell. Go read Revelation 20.

    Mary is dead. She's not there for you to pray to. Neither is your dead relative. And praying to them is a direct violation of God's Commands:

    1 Timothy 2:5-6
    5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

    Tell me, where in that verse do you see "oh, and you can also pray to His dead mommy, and your dead grandpa, and your dead goldfish Bubbles, if you prefer"?!

    It's pretty damned clear that praying to Mary or your dead relatives is blasphemy, smacking of Shintoist ancestor-worship!

    Do you pray to Mary?

    Like these hundreds of prayers, perhaps?

    Here's a good one:

    To Our Blessed Mother

    We fly to your protection, most holy Mother of God; please listen to our petitions and needs, and deliver us from all dangers, ever glorious and blessed Virgin Mary.

    Mary, our model and mother, by your obedience and patience you have taught us how to be true children of God. Please help us by your powerful assistance to overcome all our weaknesses, and to fulfill perfectly our tasks in life.

    By your compassionate aid may we ever stand in spirit with you beneath the cross of Christ so that we may also rejoice with you in your divine Son's triumphant victory over sin and death.

    In your maternal kindness help us to be faithful to prayers in the company of God's Church as you were one with the Apostles in the upper room as you waited for the promised Spirit of Pentecost.

    With your gracious assistance may we be near you in the glory of Christ's kingdom come to sing with you and all the faithful the eternal praise of God. Amen.

    V. O Mary, conceived without sin,
    R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.

    You are all fair, O Virgin Mary,
    You never knew the stain of sin;
    You are the glory of Jerusalem,
    You, the joy of Israel,
    You, the great honor of our people,
    You, the advocate of sinners.
    O Mary, Virgin most prudent,
    O Mary, Mother most merciful,
    Pray for us,
    Intercede for us with our Lord,
    Jesus Christ.
    Sounds like a prayer to me.

    This one's lovely. Apparently, you Catholics think she's been made "queen"!

    Hail, Holy Queen

    Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
    Now, wait a moment: Who exactly is it the Catholics worship, again?

    Consecration to Mary

    My Queen and my Mother,
    I give myself entirely to you;
    and to show my devotion to you,
    I consecrate to you this day my eyes,
    my ears, my mouth, my heart,
    my whole being without reserve.
    Wherefore, good Mother,
    as I am your own,
    keep me, guard me,
    as your property and possession.
    Amen.
    Catholics worship Mary, the renamed Semiramis, pagan Queen of Heaven. They do not worship God.

    You seem to think Jesus wants to be chewed up and swallowed by a Pope-loving, Mary-worshipping gaggle of dimwitted Bibilliterate dagos.

    There's part of the problem. We don't "interpret" for ourselves what we "believe" to be the true will of Christ; we read the words of the Bible so that we may know the true will of Christ. We have a thread on reading versus interpreting the Bible here.

    It comes down to this: To live life as Jesus taught we must treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated. Do YOU really want the foundation of your faith chewed on and spat upon by a group of rednecks?
    If I were indulging in any lifestyle choices that would damn me to hell, I'd want to be warned away from them, so that's what I do.

    They count on you NOT reading the Bible, which is why they flaunt God's commandments with wild abandon.

    We True Christians(tm) read the Bible for ourselves, and require it of our membership. We don't "let" our people read the bits they like; they must understand ALL of it.
