What are you, some kind of gook commie lover? The Vietnam war was started as a war of independence against French colonialism with United States backing. As a result of that war Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia received their independence.

The productivity is a little bit lower, but believe it or not you can make up the cost of the low productivity by cutting out one meal per day and making them work longer.
