    A tie with Asia, I take it. I've spent enough time there to appreciate who's in charge. And despite claims to the contrary

    there IS a unifying factor. Satan. Satan and and a hell of ugly devils.

    James 3:14-16 If ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

    Satan is not concerned with disease specifically, and if he's sending hornets Harvard is making clockwork bees (a point you haven't responded to yet) so swings/roundabouts, but the real obscenity is false Jesuses. Yeah, yeah, they're popping up in Africa and Australia and our Pastor is fully informed, so I'll just link to his thread and put the reportage here.

On the one hand we have Nature, by whose hand all that we see has come to pass. Sure, the naturalist explains, there are horizons at the largest (incomprehensibly gigantic) and the smallest (incomprehensibly minute) scales beyond which classical descriptions break down. Beyond our ken. Which is what incomprehensibility means. So no surprise there.

    Within this limited Nature however standards apply and predictions can be made. Tested. Refuted or confirmed. This is the arena in which hornets eat bees, bees become extinct, humans invent clockwork bees (at Harvard v.s.) and then the sun explodes. Big deal. First there was nothing then everything became extinct and there were no more stars. When you refer to the evil of hornets you are constrained in this bubble, declaring whatever gave rise to humans to be evil because it stands on the shoulders of mass extinction after mass extinction over and over again. And when the final wizened earthling wilts on yet undreamed of stars the embryonic microbe stirs.

    Defending God means standing up against observations contradicting what He has revealed. This is not a new idea.
    Joshua 24:12-15 I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow. And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And
    if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve
    whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

    Here is what the Holy Bible says about plagues:

    Exodus 9:14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

    Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

    Thank you for the lesson in biology, sweetie. Oh, you forgot to mention that they aren't mason bees nor carpenter bees, either.

    So now you are saying they are poisoning the bees? I thought they were decapitating them.

    Have you ever stopped to think that hornets have a reason to exist, too? Such as getting rid of the africanized killer bees!

    Also, please note that wasps/hornets eat other insects as well, such as grasshoppers. Sure, a single grasshopper is sort of cute, but get a swarm and you have a locusts plague like the one they are dealing with in Africa right now. Have you ever thought that maybe God created these hornets to prevent locusts?!

    You are so mean to God, it's unbelievable. He creates an intricate fascinating creature, and you just sit there and criticize Him. Have you ever created a living being?!? I don't think so.
    Ah, and here is the question: which "good" is more important? Is what good from people's point of view more important than what is good from God's point of view? I'm sure the people who were trying to save their children from the Flood were all like: "this Flood is horrible and NOT BENEFICIAL AT ALL." Do you agree with those who were drowned in the Flood, or do you agree with God?

    Caution: wrong answer will cost your eternal life.

    Why do you hate God so much?

    I don't know what sort of a god you believe in, but my God knows everything and creates everything.

    Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

    I cant really think of a hornet that's beneficial except for the one reason you mentioned...yes they do get rid of those Africanized bees but...that's pretty much it....they are more harmful than good.

    Bumblebees honey bees bumblee bees and even yellow jackets are beneficial Bumblebees pollinate flowers. Honey bees make honey which is to this day good capital for the United States and are beneficial to Earth

    Yellow Jackets the meanest and cruelest ones of all even have a reason to exist as they eat other pests and stop those pests from wrecking stuff

    I would to point out in the least didactic way a Scripture referring to Noah and his children (& grandchildren at the time) and all their descendants:
    Genesis 9:1-2 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

    I have highlighted the salient clause in blue (if that is not oxymoronic) but there's something else I often notice with eco-fascist types, apart from the double standards and general inconsistency, which is that for their "evolution" to work stronger species necessarily displace weaker, all part of Nature's Rich Tapestry™ which in this case is a hornet/bee struggle with an outcome yet to be determined by whatever selective pressure applies, a model for which cannot be devised that's less complex than the thing being modelled. Russia tried it with communism. Sure, they had a model for society, but critical elements were overlooked so Moscow became a parasitic entity requiring the entire Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact to support it. Those more equal than others occupied the palaces, the former occupants were taken out and shot. Many eco-terrorists espouse Marxist models of society and yet oppose its most fundamental tenet: that the weak give way to the powerful.

    It's the same with Darwinism, they'd tell us. Without crises the less well adapted (and which adaptation that is can't be modelled, for instance how would you factor in comets striking the earth? nearby supernovæ? etc.) so if some aliens had stepped in to save the eukaryotic ancestor of pine trees and elephants, where would elephants be now? Or pine trees? OR HUMANS?
    . .Trees
    . .BY JOYCE KILMER

    I think that I shall never see
    A poem lovely as a tree.

    A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
    Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

    A tree that looks at God all day,
    And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

    A tree that may in Summer wear
    A nest of robins in her hair;

    Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
    Who intimately lives with rain.

    Poems are made by fools like me,
    But only God can make a tree.

    I understand that perfectly well.

    My comment was in relation to your claim that something happened that was not God's will.

    God is portrayed in the Bible as omniscient and omnipotent. What those big words mean is that He knows everything that has happened, is happening, or will happen in the future, and He can do anything.

    Accepting that God has those properties leads to the notion that nothing happens without God's approval. If He did not want something to happen, He'd change it. Therefore, if something happens, it's because God wanted to it happen. If you do not understand why God does something, that is your problem, and that is ALSO WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS:

    Isaiah 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

    Dear Miss Alex: I will not pretend that I have not been irked by your spelling and grammatical errors, but I will not harp on about it. But, I cannot let this pass: why on Earth did you not capitalize "god", but yet you managed to find the Shift key to capitalize "Hornets"? If I were in your shoes, I would be very concerned about what Almighty might do with those hornets!
